    Head of Drivers

    Job Description

    • Transporting MSF personnel and material ensuring their safety.
    • Supervising the team of drivers and monitoring and evaluating their performance, ensuring compliance with all rules, safety regulations and MSF instructions, as well as the maintenance and service of their assigned vehicles which includes preparing and overseeing the drivers' work schedule, ensuring daily and weekly checks of vehicles and the correct filling in of administration and vehicle logbook.
    • Performing monthly checks of the vehicle inventory, documentation and first aid kit together with the responsible driver and conducting a driving test for all new drivers. Performing regular drivers' assessments.
    • Coordinating and supervising the associated resources (drivers) and fleet management to ensure adequate service in terms of organizing availability of drivers, vehicles to drive, duty rosters and replacements in case of absence, and fuel control. Organizing training courses for drivers
    • Checking and ensuring that safety procedures are met in vehicles to ensure that transportation is in the best conditions of safety for travellers.
    • Reporting any problems with the vehicles (mechanical, accidents...) to the line manager / technical referent as well as preparing monthly reports on services, spare parts, consumption, etc. of each vehicle.
    • Ensuring maintenance on the fleet of vehicles to be in perfect working order and that cars are serviced at the desired time to ensure good use of it and be able to deliver services.
    • Looking after all equipment related to vehicles and driver. Ensuring the proper use of radios in vehicles, numbers, and codes, according to MSF protocols and procedures in place.
    • In collaboration with the radio operator monitor and follow up vehicle allocation in the project and during Kiss movement.
    • Monitor and update PC and Logistics manager on the security situation in the project in relation to movement.
    • Replace any driver on leave.
    • Assist Mechanic on any service, maintenance and diesel reception when required.
    • Perform any other duties as may be required from the line manager.

    Medical Doctor

    Job Description

    • Apply medical knowledge and skills to diagnose and prevention. Carry out outpatient and inpatient consultations, prescribing the necessary treatment respecting MSF protocols.
    • Keep the patient and/or his/her family informed about the illness and provide appropriate explanations about the treatment to follow, checking they have understood.
    • Follow up the evolution of the hospitalized/IDP patients, through daily visits, consultations, and examinations, prescribing the necessary treatment following MSF protocols, deciding whether they can be discharged or transferred to other departments – in collaboration with other doctors- and informing their family about the patient’s evolution.
    • Check and control the rational distribution of medicines and equipment under his/her responsibility and take care the quality, disinfection, and sterilization of the medical material. Assure general compliance with standing hygiene standards.
    • Participate in the collection and analysis of epidemiological data, checking its validity and informing the line manager or project coordinator about any problem or complication of the patient’s illness, medical error and monitors the proper functioning of the department, equipment, or material.
    • Ensure ongoing training of the medical/paramedical multidisciplinary team to optimize the quality of care.
    • Knows and ensures all MSF medical protocols are followed and implemented, checking universal precautions are always followed and reducing bio-hazard risks and improving infection control. Ensures professional confidentiality is respected.
    • Manage the team under his/her direct responsibility according to MSF HR policies and procedures, supervising their performance, organizing, and scheduling shifts and rotations, directly participating in emergencies and on calls if necessary.
    • Clinical diagnosis and correct prescription of treatment.
    • Ensure the correct application of treatments and close follow up all patient’s Clinical examination/treatment and follow up of all patients in GOPD, ATFC, ITFC.
    • Follow up prescribed medical treatment, adapting and modifying according to needs.
    • Record every new diagnosis or finding, act performed or prescribed concisely on the patient’s file.
    • Performs the ward round when working in day duty.
    • To support the duty nurse in the event of complications during night duty.
    • Ensure a proper handover to next duty staff to ensure quality of care.
    • Complete the referral form to refer to other facility and make a summary at discharge.
    • Participate in trainings regarding nutrition programs.
    • Support, if any needs of consultations in ATFC.
    • Works in collaborate with all health staff and non-medical staff to provide quality of care.
    • Contributes to statistics (daily/weekly) and mortality and morbidity report and data analysis.
    • Informs line manager if any problems linked to work.
    • Participates in the team meetings for exchanging information.
    • Perform any other duties as may be required from the line manager.

    WATSAN Supervisor

    Job Description

    • Ensuring the day-to-day implementation and administration of assigned Watsan activities at project level, including but not limited to, water supply, excreta disposal, waste management, vector control, and dead bodies management.
    • Ensuring that the MSF procedures and protocols are followed by the Watsan teams to guarantee the operational quality of the project.
    • Ensuring the maintenance and repair of technical equipment in the project to guarantee an adequate running of Watsan activities.
    • Ensuring the distribution of the materials and tools used in water treatment, hygiene and sanitation (e.g. physical organization and inventory of stocks, receiving and processing orders for water, sanitation and hygiene material, check that the amounts received are recorded, and check monthly consumptions, etc.).
    • Supporting the Logistics Manager in ensuring an appropriate emergency preparedness and response capacity (physical verification of stocks, contacts, transport means, staff training). Ensuring appropriate assistance to the project response team and if required, participating in emergency activities or exploratory visits.
    • Supporting the Logistics Manager in the team planning (e.g. staff rosters and admin, HR processes, etc.) and informing and involving the Logistics Manager in case of any major management or technical issue, and providing all required reporting.
    • Planning and supervising the HR processes (recruitment, training, performance evaluation, tasks definition and internal and external communication) of the staff under his/her responsibility to ensure both the sizing and the amount of knowledge required for the activity.
    • Participating in data collection and reporting as required.
    • Conduct quarterly comprehensive Watsan check in all MSF facilities Office (Office, Guest house, MCH, Unguwa UkU and Tundun Fulani).
    • Reporting: support Logistics Manager in compiling monthly Watsan report consisting of water consumption, waste generated and treated.
    • Carry out quarterly inventory of Watsan materials and set up timeline for replacement. Raise IR for required Watsan materials in case.
    • Training: Conduct biannual refresher training for hygiene committee in all facilities and maintain good collaboration between the communities and MSF.
    • Prepare BOQ and service agreement / Contract and supervise Watsan related construction and rehabilitation in the facilities.
    • Ensure maintenance of dosing pumps, resins and industrial salt filters and any other Watsan equipment in the project.
    • Perform any other duties as may be required from the line manager.

    Electrician

    Job Description

    • Ensuring all electrical installations in MSF facilities comply with MSF standards and performing autonomously and ensuring, all necessary complex / advanced electrical installations, maintenance, and repairs, according to the supervisor’s instructions. This includes the following tasks:
      • Carrying out critical rehabilitation tasks and corrective maintenance interventions and the coordination and execution of required tasks as well as installation of needed electrical equipment as defined by each project. Elaborating the necessary documentation for carrying out energy installations projects (plans, list of materials, etc.).
      • Carrying out and updating the electrical installations inventory in MSF missions’ facilities and performing annual maintenance procedures and safety checks across facilities in the project. Executing any needed tests after any repair or maintenance.
      • Identifying local technical actors and organizing their participation in the project (training of technical staff, establishing relations with local companies, contractors and suppliers, quotations, contracts, etc.).
    • Making suggestions regarding any repair or maintenance work needed in MSF electrical installations and equipment and assisting logistics department with any urgent support/advice or any relative work needed.
    • Managing the stock of consumable items related to electrical installation, repairs, and maintenance, filling in the stock cards, carrying out physical stock inventories, executing orders necessary for renewing stock, avoiding any shortage.
    • Responsible for the equipment and tools (including extinguishers), checking they are correctly and safely used, maintaining, and renewing them when necessary and keeping the inventory updated.
    • Keeping working area clean and tidy.
    • Ensuring that all record sheets and books related to maintenance are always completed and prepares needed reports before and after any repair or required maintenance.
    • Ensure the safety of all electrical installation in the project checked by monthly testing all RCCBs and MCBs responsiveness and making sure sockets are earthed and tested regularly.
    • Carry out monthly and quarterly maintenance of non-medical equipment e.g Air conditioners, Ceiling Fans, domestic Fridges.
    • Conduct power assessment and ensure consumption measurements are made regularly. Using power recording device.
    • Ensure critical zones/wards are equipped with back-up systems and maintenance chronogram are respected.
    • Making sure all electrical safety equipment are up to date and check it functionality monthly.
    • Reporting: Compile monthly report stating clearly what has been achieved, challenges and way forward.
    • Perform any other duties as may be required from the line manager.
