    Field Coordinator for Development of a Market for Clean Cooking in Nigeria

    Project Description

    • The Nigeria Energy Support Program (NESP) is co-funded by the European Union and the German Government – BMZ – and implemented by GIZ in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Power (FMP).
    • During NESP I (2013-2017), the Program, in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Environment (FMEnv), Nigerian State Government and three selected manufacturers, launched the Clean Cooking Intervention which aimed to provide 100 rice parboiling groups with access to improved institutional cookstoves in Nigeria State. Given their key role in the clean cooking energy sector, the intervention paid special attention to women.
    • During NESP II (2017-2020), the Program, always in collaboration with the FMEnv and other key public and private stakeholders, is supporting the development of the market for improved institutional stoves for productive uses like agro-processing of food crops found in the respective areas, e.g. rice parboiling, palm oil processing, etc.
    • NESP II Extension target the dissemination of 5,000 clean cookstoves, notably LPG-based clean cookstoves, for productive use of energy (PUE) as well as for household use, thereby resulting in, at least, 3,000 tCO2e of savings per annum by November 2022.

    Job Description

    • The proposed Field coordinator will Coordinate and support locally the pool activities.

    Qualifications

    • Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA) or Economics
    • Knowledge of English of Level C1 in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages
    • At least 5 years of professional experience in the clean cooking sector/distribution of petroleum products.
    • At least 2 years of professional experience in the LPG sector.
    • At least 5 years of work experience as Coordinator or similar in the context of consultancy assignments.
    • At least 5 years of work experience in Nigeria.
    • 2 years of experience in working or consulting for donors or implementing agencies like GIZ.

    Job Description

    • The proposed Team Leader will be responsible for managing (incl. planning, implementing and monitoring all activities under the contract) with NESP, any third parties and the team of the Consultant to render the contracted services in compliance with quality standards.

    Qualifications

    • Master's Degree in Business Administration (MBA) or Economics.
    • Knowledge of English of Level C1 in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages
    • At least 10 years of professional experience in the clean cooking sector/distribution of petroleum products.
    • At least 5 years of professional experience in the LPG sector.
    • At least 15 years of management/leadership experience as project team leader or manager in a company
    • At least 5 years of work experience in sub-Saharan Africa incl. 2 years in Nigeria.
    • 5 years of experience in working or consulting for donors or implementing agencies like GIZ.
