About the role
The MIS Specialist role supports data-led insights, operational intelligence, and performance tracking across the Physical Channels business unit (POS, Agency Banking, and Pay With Bank Transfer - PWBT, etc). This entry-level position focuses on contributing to Management Information Systems (MIS), transaction analytics, terminal performance tracking, and merchant activity monitoring. Working alongside senior team members, the position assists as part of the analytical engine of the unit—helping synthesize raw field data into actionable reports, tracking merchant churn and reactivation metrics, supporting terminal yield optimization, and learning to ensure seamless cross-functional data alignment between Commercial, Operations, Product, and Finance teams.
This role offers a strong foundation for an early-career professional. In a fast-moving, high-volume payments environment, you will work closely with experienced analysts to help maintain and refine the reporting and forecasting infrastructure that lets the business see itself clearly and act quickly. We are looking for someone eager to learn, contribute to core reporting processes, and build data governance skills in a collaborative team setting.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Core Performance Reporting & Dashboarding
- Assist in developing, maintaining, and updating standardized daily, weekly, and monthly MIS reports tracking unit-wide KPIs including Total Processing Volume (TPV), Gross Revenue, Active Terminal Percentage, and Average Yield per Terminal
- Support the tracking of Month-on-Month (MoM) growth and run-rate projections across physical payment channels (POS, PWBT, Card Issuance), helping build forecast models under the guidance of senior analysts
- Maintain consolidated dashboards for multi-channel merchant deployments (e.g., AICL, Delborough, Z Labs Limited) to monitor post-onboarding performance
Merchant Portfolio & Reactivation Analytics
- Conduct portfolio segmentation to track active, dormant, inactive, and churned POS terminals across regions and merchant categories
- Analyze merchant reactivation trends, identifying specific operational or technical friction points (e.g., missing EOD functionality, mapping errors) that impact terminal usage
- Generate precise weekly 'At-Risk' and 'Dormant' merchant lists for the field sales and relationship management teams to drive targeted engagement
Channel & Product Parity Intelligence
- Analyze transaction data across terminal software versions (legacy app vs. revamped new app) to identify feature regression impacts (e.g., EOD capability gaps across Card, PWBT, Loans etc.)
- Monitor merchant mapping accuracy across main accounts and sub-accounts, ensuring transaction flows and fee structures match contracted pricing models (e.g., 0.5% capped at ₦100)
- Track integration progress and transaction velocity for key strategic accounts (e.g., Flutterwave for Business - F4B integrations, Aggregator Models)
Cross-Functional Operations & Escalation Support
- Support cross-functional collaboration by providing data support to Physical Channels, Product, Engineering, QA, and Finance teams
- Provide quantitative data support for process escalations - highlighting feature parity gaps, system uptime impacts, and quality assurance bottlenecks affecting terminal throughput
- Track resolution SLAs for merchant operational issues that cause transaction drops, delivering post-mortem data reports to leadership
Data Quality, CRM & Systems Integrity
- Audit CRM and database records regularly to ensure high data integrity across merchant mapping, terminal IDs (TIDs), MIDs, sales assignments, and terminal status
- Enforce standardized reporting metrics across regional teams to ensure uniform data interpretation across the Commercial division
Required competencies to be a Waver:
- 1-3 years of experience in MIS, business intelligence, or data analytics, ideally within payments, fintech, or a transaction-heavy environment
- Foundational experience or exposure to building and maintaining recurring reporting and dashboarding processes (daily/weekly/monthly)
- Eagerness to learn forecasting methods and scenario modelling to support data-led insights and business reporting tasks
- Comfort working with large transactional datasets and translating them into clear, actionable insight
- Working knowledge of CRM and database systems, with strong attention to data integrity and governance
- Advanced proficiency in Excel/SQL or equivalent analytics tools; experience with BI/dashboarding tools is an advantage
- Exposure to POS, agency banking, or physical payment channels is an advantage

About the role
The Product Manager (Physical channels) role owns the product vision, roadmap, feature execution, and lifecycle management of all Smart POS terminals, payment applications, and in-person acceptance solutions across Android, Linux, and Mini POS hardware form factors (e.g., HorizonPay K11/T50/H70, Newland N90). You will bridge business requirements, merchant needs, and engineering execution — ensuring total feature parity between legacy and new app builds, introducing value-added services (PWBT, Dispute Management, Merchant Loans, EOD reporting), and scaling processing volumes across strategic merchant portfolios.
This is deliberately not a feature-shipping role. In a fast-moving payments environment spanning POS terminals, PWBT, and card acceptance, this function is a commercial control point, and we are looking for someone who will own it end-to-end. You will be expected to bring rigor, structure, and strong cross-functional discipline to this role, guaranteeing high transaction success rates, swift issue resolution, and optimal merchant satisfaction.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
POS Product Strategy & Roadmap Execution
- Define and drive the product roadmap for physical channel applications across Android, Linux, and traditional POS devices
- Synthesize customer feedback, field intelligence, and market dynamics to build competitive terminal payment solutions (Card, PWBT, QR, Loans, Agency Banking)
- Lead product scoping for key merchant integrations (e.g., Flutterwave for Business - F4B integrations, aggregator white-label setups)
Feature Parity & Quality Assurance Oversight
- Enforce strict feature parity standards between legacy app builds and revamped versions prior to production release
- Ensure essential functionalities - such as unified EOD reporting (Card & PWBT), sub-account/main-account mapping, dispute handling, and offline sync - are fully built and thoroughly tested
- Partner with QA leads to prevent software regressions, ensuring builds missing live core capabilities are stopped at the QA desk
Terminal Lifecycle & OEM Management
- Manage product certifications and firmware/app deployments across terminal hardware partners (e.g., HorizonPay K11, Newland N90, HorizonPay T50, HorizonPay H70 Mini POS)
- Oversee Remote Key Injection (RKI), Terminal Management System (TMS) app updates, and over-the-air (OTA) push strategies to minimize terminal downtime
- Ensure compliance with switching network guidelines, PCI-PTS, and local regulatory standards
Cross-Functional Launch & Rollout Management
- Coordinate with Sales, Operations, and Customer Success to facilitate seamless pilot launches and mass deployments (e.g., AICL, Delborough, Z Labs Limited)
- Define commercial pricing rule engines within the product (e.g., 0.5% capped at ₦100 for PWBT) and ensure accurate transaction mapping across main and sub-accounts
- Develop product documentation, user guides, release notes, and operational escalation workflows for internal teams
Product Performance & Yield Monitoring
- Track transaction success rates, app stability, response times, and active terminal rates in partnership with the MIS unit
- Analyze usage metrics to optimize terminal yield, drive merchant engagement, and reduce inactive/churned POS ratios
- Incorporate data-driven insights from MIS reports to prioritize backlog items and sprint planning
Required competencies to be a Waver:
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in product management within payments, fintech, or POS/terminal hardware environments
- Strong track record defining and executing product roadmaps for hardware-integrated or terminal-based software products
- Demonstrated experience managing feature parity, QA gatekeeping, and release processes for merchant- or consumer-facing applications
- Experience with terminal lifecycle management, including certifications, firmware/app deployment, RKI, and TMS/OTA update strategies
- Working knowledge of card scheme, switching network, and PCI-PTS compliance requirements
- Comfort partnering with Engineering, QA, MIS, and Commercial teams to translate business needs into shipped features
- Exposure to the African payments or financial services landscape is an advantage
