    Driller

    Job Summary

    • We seek an experienced Driller to join our Dangote Cement Okpella Plant team.
    • As a Driller, you will be responsible for operating drilling equipment to bore blast holes in open-pit mines or quarries.
    • You will ensure the safe and efficient operation of the drilling machines, adhere to safety procedures, and achieve target penetration rates.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    • Operate drilling machines to bore blast holes in open-pit mines or quarries
    • Conduct pre-start inspections to identify maintenance or repair requirements
    • Ensure the safe and reliable operation of drilling equipment
    • Inspect and maintain drill bits, rods, and other drilling tools
    • Participate in blasting-related activities, such as collecting drilling samples and loading explosives
    • Collaborate with maintenance personnel for equipment maintenance and repair
    • Complete necessary documentation, such as performance sheets and logbooks
    • Comply with safety and environmental requirements

    Requirements

    • High School Diploma or equivalent
    • Minimum of 3 years of experience operating drilling equipment
    • Knowledge of drilling techniques and equipment
    • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and documents
    • Strong attention to detail and safety awareness

    • Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and maximize equipment reliability
    • Lead troubleshooting efforts for mechanical failures and provide effective solutions
    • Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations during maintenance activities

    Requirements

    Education and Work Experience

    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering
    • Minimum of 18 years of experience in the maintenance and operations of mechanical systems in the cement industry
    • Experience in a managerial or leadership role.

    Skills and Competencies

    • Strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems in the cement industry
    • Excellent leadership and managerial skills
    • Ability to analyze complex problems and develop effective solutions

    Electrical Engineer

    Description

    • We are looking for an electrical engineer who will help us advance our electrical products, systems, and applications.
    • On a daily basis, you’ll carry out various engineering tasks, such as performing calculations to ensure our systems meet the global safety standards and collaborating with technicians and computer programmers to solve emerging issues.
    • Ultimately, you will improve our company’s products and processes and contribute to its growth.
    • Overseeing maintenance of Electrical equipment for optimum performance, raises indent for replacement of spare parts and provide maintenance support for shift operations.

    Requirements

    • Ensures/enforces maximum safety procedure in execution of all jobs.
    • Supervises all planned and corrective maintenance jobs for effective/efficient plant operation.
    • Participates in new equipment installations and commissioning.
    • Organizes work schedules/manpower allocation of daily jobs in the plant.
    • Perform power analysis on electricity consumptions.
    • Modifies control for smooth process operations.
    • Ensure compliance with ISO Standards
    • BSc/HND (Electrical/Electronic Engineering)
    • Minimum 5 years post NYSC relevant experience
    • Computer literate with proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Power Point.
    • Should be able to work with less supervision.
