    Senior Accountant

    Job Overview

    The Senior Accountant will work with the Head of Finance for Nigeria. This will be a permanent role that will involve accounting, reporting as well as ensuring adherence to internal controls and statutory compliance. The Senior Accountant should also be someone with an interest in FP&A who is willing to learn how to work with growth models, analyse financial statements, forecast and budget.

    Responsibilities

    • Perform accounting functions including, but not limited to, verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions with a good understanding of GAAP and IFRS accounting standards.
    • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports with accompanying schedules, verify accuracy of all statements and maintain the integrity of balance sheet balances and inflow/outflow systems.
    • Maintain all  general ledgers and  related accounts with proper documentation and records of all transactions; review of entries to the general ledger to assure accuracy and compliance with the company’s and established accounting principles.
    • Assist with setting up accounting books and procedures for new countries as the business expands.
    • Ensure statutory reports such as CBN related reports and other regulatory reports are prepared and filed in time.
    • Coordinate annual external audits and prepare assigned schedules for the annual & interim audits.

    Qualifications

    • A finance-related degree, with ICAN/ACCA as an added advantage.
    • A minimum of 5 years  accounting experience, preferably  working in the financial service industry
    • Experience working with accounting software (Netsuite, QuickBooks, Oracle)
    • Advanced proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel. Knowledge of tools like SQL and Power BI is an advantage.
    • Accurate with precise attention to detail
    • Self-motivated, results focused and creative
    • Methodical approach and problem-solving skills
    • Able to work with tight deadlines and in a startup environment

    Associate Product Manager

    Job Overview

    Branch launched in Africa in 2015 and has seen rapid adoption and growth. In 2022, we plan to significantly grow our product and engineering team in Africa. As part of this team, you will work closely with our global engineering team (distributed across three continents) to strengthen the capabilities of our existing products and build out new products for Branch. Example projects include: Building new functionality for our Credit, Wallet, and Investment products; improving the reliability of our core payments and banking systems; researching new product ideas and bringing them to market.

    Responsibilities

    • Participate and assist in the lifecycle of development for key areas of the Branch product. This encompasses everything from researching new features and creating detailed specs, to managing the team’s workflow and shipping deliverables on time.
    • Work closely with our engineering and operational teams to triage bugs, define requirements, and set high-level quarterly milestones. 
    • Evaluate, initiate, and manage partnerships with third-party vendors to help Branch achieve our product roadmap.
    • Draw insights from user research, experiments, and industry trends to set the team strategy and prioritize projects that sustainably grow our customer base and drive the adoption of new products.

    • You have top-notch analytical abilities. You can measure initiatives quantitatively, and you draw actionable insights to guide decisions.
