    Grant and Compliance Intern

    Job Summary

    Provide support to the Grants and Partnerships department in managing donor relations, proposal development, reporting, and capacity building of partners. The intern will assist in identifying funding opportunities, ensuring compliance with donor guidelines, and tracking project progress. Additionally, will support monitoring and evaluation activities, financial management, and documentation related to partnerships. Other tasks as assigned by the management may include research, coordination of meetings, and contributing to strategy development for expanding the organization & network of partners.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Support Grant Proposal Development
    • Assist in drafting, editing, and reviewing grant proposals, ensuring alignment with donor guidelines and objectives.
    • Collaborate with program teams to gather relevant data and input for proposal submissions.
    • Documentation and Record Keeping
    • Maintain organized records of all grant proposals, contracts, reports, and correspondence.
    • Ensure that documentation is easily accessible and complies with organizational and donor requirements.
    • Partner Communication
    • Facilitate communication with partners, including sending updates, coordinating meetings, and addressing inquiries.
    • Ensure timely responses to partners regarding project implementation and reporting.
    • Capacity Building Support

    Project Coordinator (WASH/Nutrition/Protection)

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    Programme Management & Delivery

    • Develop project detail work plan for the project and ensure documentation updating and tracking of implementation.
    • Ensure procurements specified in the project documents are planned, requested, purchased and delivered on a timely manner
    • Develop monthly plan with project team and conduct regular meetings to review progress
    • Provide monthly update on project progress and flag any concerns in a timely manner
    • Manage all activities, resources and assets for the projects under supervision
    • Identify critical issues in the implementation of projects and take the necessary actions to address problems and constraints
    • Closely work with state/LGA Offices for the smooth implementation of the project and for ensuring project sustainability
    • Leads project activity and budget revisions, prepares justification for request of amendments in keeping with donor regulations and procedures, closely working with the relevant award team to ensure timely action
    • Prepare periodic reports on the implementation of project activities as per the requirements of FRAD and specific project donor
    • Develop communication strategies and tools to reach target communities and improve demand for immunization
    • Develop project briefs, which document the project learnings and results
    • Ensure that strategies for phasing out are taken care of during implementation; and project close outs are properly planned and executed starting the beginning of the project

    Budget management

    • Manage budgets, including making forecast and review of budget spending and variance analysis, identification of wrong charges and required actions to address/ correct them
    • Ensure effective and efficient utilization of project budget and other resources for intended purpose; follow up on budget utilization and project expenditure
    • Prepare/Review and submit timely donor reports, including development/review and verification of both narrative and financial reports and confirmation of accuracy and consistency between narrative and financial reports.
    • Closely work with the finance and compliance team to efficiently monitor and track burn rates, reporting and financial compliance issues

    Staff Management

    • Develop performance objectives and development plan for all project staff under supervision
    • Establish a system for, communication, follow up, ensuring regular reporting and development of project staff
    • Ensure that all project staff understood their responsibilities and how their contribution feeds into the overall project objective
    • Organize regular review meetings to review progress, identify issues and solve them
    • Conduct performance reviews, and appraisals on a timely basis

    Capacity Building

    • Identify and recommend possible supports to project teams to build their capacity and to facilitate project implementation.
    • Support capacity building to strengthen WASH and nutrition interventions based on  project activities 
    • Monitoring, evaluation and quality assurance
    • In collaboration and coordination with FRAD MEAL team facilitate/conduct baseline/LQAS and end-line assessments, to have a project baseline, to assess project contribution and inform project delivery strategies
    • In coordination with and support from relevant MEAL staff, design results-based monitoring and evaluation process for both projects
    • Monitor and systematically document project results implementation lessons, best practices and innovations for the project under supervision; and share lessons to inform program development
    • Conduct regular supportive and joint supportive supervisions to project sites with project team and respective government partners
    • Facilitates visits to donors, members and others as necessary
    • Conduct need and situation assessment and share with SCI CO team and relevant stake holders

    Advocacy and Stakeholder Engagement

    • Foster collaboration with local government, community organizations, and non-health sectors to create an enabling environment for immunization.
    • Represent FRAD in different regional/zonal, or ward level platforms and share key takeaways with supervisor and management team
    • Organize and lead advocacy meetings with government officials to influence political commitment, immunization coordination mechanism, and resource allocation for FRAD.

    Representation

    • Represent FRAD and attend protection, health and nutrition coordination meetings, technical working groups provide update as necessary.
    • Accountability
    • Holds self-accountable for making decisions, managing resources efficiently, achieving and role modelling Save the Children values
    • Holds the team and partners accountable to deliver on their responsibilities – giving them the freedom to deliver in the best way they see fit, providing the necessary development to improve performance and applying appropriate consequences when results are not achieved

    Experience and technical competencies

    • BSc degree in public health, nursing or related fields
    • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in an NGO environment of which a minimum of 3 years managing community based WASH/Nutrition projects
    • Trainings on IYCF, CMAM,  Immunization in Practice (IIP), Immunization Cold chain users, IMNCI, ICMNCI and Immunization MLM trainings will be an asset
    • Experience working with the Ministry of Health at national or sub-national levels
    • Highly developed cultural awareness and ability to work well in an international environment with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
    • Strong results orientation, with the ability to challenge existing mindsets

    Finance Officer

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Record all financial transactions promptly and accurately in QuickBooks.
    • Prepare payment vouchers with complete and authorized supporting documents.
    • Process staff salaries, vendor payments, volunteer stipends, and statutory remittances (PAYE, WHT, pension, NSITF).
    • Conduct monthly bank reconciliations and update cash and bank books regularly.
    • Review financial documents for accuracy, completeness, and policy compliance.
    • Maintain proper filing and archiving of all financial records and documents.
    • Support project teams in budget preparation and expenditure tracking (BVA).
    • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
    • Liaise with banks, auditors, vendors, and relevant regulatory bodies.
    • Support audit exercises by providing accurate and complete documentation.
    • Collect and review payment documents in a timely manner.
    • Support the payment of participants and other project beneficiaries.
    • Maintain custody of the office petty cash fund and process approved daily payments.

    • Verify all transactions and ensure relevant supporting documents are filed.
    • Review payment requests and ensure transactions follow organizational guidelines.

    Experience and technical competencies

    • Demonstrated experience in:
    • Preparing and reviewing financial reports
    •  Budget monitoring and variance analysis
    • Statutory deductions and remittances (e.g., PAYE, WHT, NSITF, Pension)
    • Supporting audits and donor reporting
    • Familiarity with donor-funded projects (e.g., NHF, UN, USAID) and related compliance requirements.

    MEAL (FCRM) Assistant

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Will manage the registration of complaints received by beneficiaries and non-beneficiaries at distribution point and community outreach activities.
    • The position will be responsible of answering calls coming from FRAD toll free line.
    • Attend and collect all complaints from beneficiaries, ensure feedbacks are given to beneficiaries in good time.
    • Ensure toll free lines are active.
    • To assist the M&E Officer in working with program staff and beneficiaries to develop structure and methods for managing the complaints and feedback in the field as well as maintaining the integrity of information received.
    • This role will also involve management of CRM database by ensuring proper documentation and aggregation of CRM data including complaints received, investigated and responded to as well as providing detailed summaries of complaints issues to feedback to the program team during monthly and quarterly meetings/reports.
    • The post holder with support from the M&E Manager will ensure the collection of quality complain and feedback across the response.
    • The post holder will interface and support programme team members, support programme coordination and policy engagement.
    • Be in charge of providing feedback to the complainants when complaints are resolved
    • Ensure beneficiaries are treated with respect and dignity ensure the application of FRAD’s PSEA, Code of Ethics and Conduct, child safeguarding.
    • Mobilize communities through awareness campaigns, meetings, and focus group discussions to ensure inclusive participation in project planning and implementation,
    • Building Resilience, Leaving no one behind with a focus on women, youth, and marginalized groups. They will strengthen local engagement by supporting community-based structures.
    • Ensure timely and culturally appropriate communication of project goals and activities, develop IEC materials in local languages, and serve as a key liaison between the organization and community leaders to promote trust and collaboration.

    Experience and technical competencies

    • Minimum of 2-3 years proven experience in accountability especially feedback mechanisms concepts and international humanitarian quality standards.
    • Previous experience of working with NGOs.
    • Experience in implementation of accountability and complaints reporting mechanisms in humanitarian emergencies.
    • Experience in developing and/or managing complaints reporting mechanisms.
    • Understand key concepts and commitments regarding accountability to affected populations (AAP), including Strong understanding of HAP, Do No Harm and other relevant global standards.
    • Ethical, focused on treating complainants/community fairly and culturally sensitive.
    • Building collaborative relationships with beneficiaries and the community.

    Information Management Officer

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Data Analysis: organize, design, and carry out the analysis of datasets through meaningful statistical techniques such Power BI, and Excel
    • Coordination: provide support to the Information Management Working Group; advocate for the use of data standards and common platforms, and for the open exchange of information.
    • Data Management: design, develop, and manage databases, spreadsheets, and other data tools; understand, document, and ensure the quality of high-value humanitarian data for accuracy, consistency, and comparability; consolidate operational information on a regular schedule to support analysis; manage platforms and tools that support data collection and analysis, such as Kobo Toolbox.
    • Visualization: produce and update information products such as reports, charts, and infographics by turning data into graphical products to convey messages and a storyline
    • Geographic Information System (GIS) and map production: produce and update high-quality map products and interactive dashboards.
    • Implement and regularly update the Information Management Strategy and the Dissemination Plan for all information management related products produced within FRAD
    • Design necessary data collection forms, ensuring that the purpose and use of data collected is clear and that questions are simple, clear and collectable.
    • Organize and manage data input from data collection forms and conduct initial analysis of the data.
    • Based on the data collected, conduct needs and gap identification for the relevant sectors of operations within FRAD.
    • Proactively gather information from relevant cluster partners, UN agencies and other organizations which may be of use to FRAD for informing decisions.
    • Develop an information-sharing platform as a web-portal.
    • Update and share 5Ws for all relevant sectors
    • Identify appropriate secondary data and information resources.
    • Provide information management services to support population data management activities including population estimation, information flows from established systems, movement tracking, standard setting/promotion and dissemination.
    • Participate in Cluster and inter-cluster meetings representing FRAD and provide the necessary support in presenting the relevant data and information.

    Experience and technical competencies

    • First-level university degree in information management, management information systems (MIS), statistics, computer science, computer engineering, information systems, or related field, combined with 2 years of experience, may be considered in lieu of an advanced university degree.
    • Applicants with a master’s degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field of study are not required to have professional work experience. Applicants with a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) are required to have a minimum of two (2) years of relevant professional experience in grant information management, data science/analysis, information systems, or information science.
    • Experience in Excel is highly desirable.
    • Experience in developing maps using ArcGIS ArcMap is highly desirable
    • Experience in developing interactive dashboards using Power BI is highly desirable.
    • Fluency in English; knowledge of Hausa/Kanuri an advantage.

    Project Assistants (WASH)

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Relate with stakeholders and beneficiaries at the field location
    • Actively participate in all FRAD project activities at the field location
    • Supervise activities of FRAD volunteers at field location
    • Support during trainings, meetings and other engagements as assigned by the project officers
    • Prepare weekly, monthly and all activity reports at the field location
    • Attend and actively participate in sector coordination meetings at the LGA level
    • And any other duty assigned by the project coordinator and FRAD management.

    Experience and technical competencies

    • At least 2 years of practical field experience in nutrition, WASH and general protection in humanitarian and development contexts.
    • Ability to contribute to the development and operationalization of safeguarding frameworks, policies, and tools, ensuring survivor-centered and do-no-harm approaches in all project implementation activities.
    • Excellent skills in reporting, documentation, and communication, with a consistent track record of integrity, cultural sensitivity, and respect for diversity across complex humanitarian contexts.
