    Internal Control Officer

    Job Purpose

    • Ensure compliance to organization process, procedures and policies and other support for Chicken Republic Stores.

    Core Responsibilities and Key Result Areas

    • Ensures that internal control documentation are accurate and up-to date
    • Ensure compliance to organization process, procedures and policies
    • Verify and maintain internal control checks and records including assets tags to ensure safeguard of company
    • Track cash advance for unnecessary delay in retirement
    • Create and maintain error log closed register to ensure that all identified documentation errors are corrected and closed
    • Review Imprest and relate with stores for any irregularities when necessary
    • Conduct a periodic physical verification of stocks asset monthly
    • Vouch and verify all payments vouchers for approvals completeness and accuracy
    • Supervise the receipts of goods from suppliers and certify the GRN
    • Review of administrative operations (Admin and Maintenance)
    • Ensure that all necessary corrections are effected, vouchers properly authenticated
    • Prepaid expense retirement review
    • Call over of SCD- Finance and finance posting on SAP
    • Due diligence and pricing review
    • Ensure that all internal control registers are updated and closed daily
    • Any other adhoc assignment as assigned by the HOD.

    Key Performance Indicators

    • Time lag between internal control deficiency occurring and reporting
    • Numbers of internal control improvement initiatives
    • Number of internal control breaches
    • Identify and respond proactively to business priorities and key controls
    • Timely rendition of report weekly, monthly, quarterly and yearly basis to track support provided to the business and impact of such support
    • Prompt implementation and corrective action with employees and managers.

    Job Specifications
    Educational Requirements:

    • A good first degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

    Professional Requirements:

    • Membership of the ICAN, CITN, ACCA, CIS or any other related professional qualification is an added advantage.

    Experience Requirements:

    • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in similar role is required.

    Knowledge Requirements:

    • Financial accounting skills
    • Strong knowledge of audit procedures.

    Shift Quality Inspector

    Job Purpose

    • To maintain quality standards by ensuring conformity to standard operating procedures, GHP and cGMP and assessing in-process production, finished products and recording the results.  

    Core Responsibilities and Key Result Areas
    Quality Control:

    • Maintain Shift continuity and control the shift quality/EHS function until when the RELIVER or DESIGNATE resumes duty
    • Ensure discipline in the department, example: wearing uniform, wearing badges, using of proper tools, and to ensure that all safety requirements are met.
    • Ensure effective co-ordination with all the sections within the department, for effective service to other departments/divisions/units
    • Ensure good housekeeping and cleanliness in the area of control at all time
    • Adhere to all the safety and environment regulations within and around the production area
    • Ensure calibration of all the measuring and weighing equipment under direct control of the supply chain division are carried out regularly
    • Ensure and maintain all operations, and assigned technical documents
    • Always ensure strict conformity to cGMP and GHP
    • Develop a measurable standard for assigned materials and processes
    • Ensure conformity of all raw materials and packaging materials to specification before usage at the production shop floor
    • Ensure strict compliance to FC process standards, such as Operation Alert, SIC (Short Interval Control), and carry out on the spot checks on processes and materials before clearance for use/dispatch
    • Report any non-conformity beyond his competence to the superior without assumption
    • Approve all finished products by confirming specifications and conducting required tests
    • Ensure effective coordination and discipline in the section within the department under supervision by enforcing the use of required PPE
    • Ensure strict compliance to FC process standards, such as Operation Alert, SIC (Short Interval Control), and carry out on the spot checks on processes and materials before clearance for dispatch
    • Verify proper record keeping of all monitoring documents such as SIC and temperature/humidity monitoring charts 
    • Write daily required reports for example; daily, weekly, monthly or any periodic reports and submit to the appropriate authority
    • Whenever required, he/she will cater for regulatory activities with the government agencies
    • Ensure strict adherence to statutory and regulatory requirements
    • Ensure strict adherence to the requirements of the ISO 22000, 9001, 14001 and 45000 as well as other company adopted quality system

    Job Specifications
    Educational Requirements:

    • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Natural/Physical Science or Manufacturing management is required

    Professional Requirements:

    • Possession of any relevant certification is an added advantage.

    Experience Requirements:

    • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role.

    Knowledge Requirements:

    Senior Tax Manager

    Job Purpose

    • To keep the business abreast with and compliant with state and all tax regulations and develop policies for dealing with tax related issues.
    • The job holder must be up to date with emerging tax laws and trends and advises the Company on how to manage tax burdens.

    Core Responsibilities and Key Result Areas
    Strategic Planning and Alignment:

    • Lead the implementation of the strategic Tax plan for the Company
    • Assist the Company to make rational tax decisions and maximize tax engagements.
    • Develops procedures, schedules, priorities and programmes for achieving Tax objectives and goals
    • Communicating Tax findings effectively through professionally designed Tax reports
    • Prepare financial tax provisions for the Company, and preparing the consolidated Federal and State tax returns periodically

    Tax Management:

    • Prepares and files annual and periodic tax returns, whilst ensuring the business is not exposed to tax risk
    • Keep abreast of relevant updates regrading financial reporting framework and tax regulation whilst advising the business on a need basis.
    • Oversee the process of tax computation, Capital Allowance Computation and obtaining certificates of acceptance.
    • Fulfill the Company’s tax obligations in a timely fashion, as well as assisting them to file for their tax returns.
    • Coordinate the activities of the tax department
    • Ensure that the department renders quality tax services to business divisions
    • Extend advisory services to individuals and businesses
    • Ensure that Company’s tax dealings are in compliance with laid down tax laws
    • Prepare tax reports, correspondence, and research memoranda

    • Membership of CITN, ICAN, CFA or any other related professional qualification is required.

    Experience Requirements:

    • Minimum of 8 years in a core financial/Tax Operations capacity

    Knowledge Requirements:

    • Knowledge  FIRS  and  GAAP 
    • Knowledge of SEC  and FRCN rules
    • Knowledge of Tax regulations
    • Knowledge of the money market
    • Knowledge of the Food/QSR Industry processes

    Working Conditions:

    • Jobholder typically work 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, although some roles may involve weekend or evening work.
    • This role is largely office-based, although at times the job may require travel to meetings held off-site, as the company has more than one office; or speaking on the phone which leaves their analysis and research work for evenings and weekends.
    • Jobholder is frequently under stress from deadlines, most analysts work full-time, and overtime becomes a routine.
