    Human Resource Manager

    Description

    • We are seeking an experienced and strategic Human Resource Manager to lead the HR function for a leading manufacturing company in the polythene polymer industry.
    • The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in manufacturing, particularly within the cellophane and nylon production sector, and will be responsible for driving people strategy, ensuring compliance, and supporting business growth through effective talent management and HR operations.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Lead end-to-end recruitment, onboarding, and workforce planning to meet operational and business objectives.
    • Develop, implement, and continuously improve HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
    • Manage employee relations, disciplinary processes, grievance handling, and conflict resolution.
    • Drive performance management, succession planning, and employee development initiatives.
    • Ensure compliance with Nigerian labour laws, statutory regulations, and company policies.
    • Oversee compensation, benefits administration, payroll coordination, and employee welfare programmes.
    • Collaborate with department heads to identify manpower requirements and build high-performing teams.
    • Develop and implement employee engagement and retention strategies.
    • Maintain accurate HR records, prepare management reports, and monitor key HR metrics.
    • Foster a positive workplace culture that promotes productivity, accountability, and continuous improvement.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, or a related discipline.
    • 10–12 years of progressive HR experience within the manufacturing sector.
    • Mandatory: Proven HR experience in Polythene Polymer Manufacturing (Cellophane & Nylon).
    • Strong knowledge of Nigerian labour laws and HR best practices.
    • Demonstrated experience in talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management, and organisational development.
    • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
    • Professional HR certification (CIPM, SHRM, HRCI, or equivalent) is an added advantage.

    Senior Quantity Surveyor

    Description

    • The Senior Quantity Surveyor will be responsible for monitoring ongoing construction projects to ensure they are executed within budget, schedule, and quality standards.
    • The role involves managing costs, contracts, procurement, and financial documentation while supporting project stakeholders in achieving optimal value for money.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Prepare cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender documents.
    • Submit tenders and participate in bidding and negotiation forums.
    • Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to secure competitive terms.
    • Manage project budgets, including cost forecasting and monitoring.
    • Maintain accurate financial records and documentation for all project-related transactions.
    • Provide expert advice on procurement, risk management, and cost-efficiency.
    • Understand client requirements and perform quantity take-offs based on RCP and marking drawings.
    • Identify and resolve gaps between BOQ and project drawings, specifications, and contract conditions.
    • Coordinate with design teams to analyze architectural and MEP drawings.
    • Handle work valuations, claims, and variations with contractors and consultants.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to optimize project outcomes and ensure financial viability.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
    • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in quantity surveying.
    • Professional certification or membership in quantity surveying or construction bodies.
    • Experience across residential and commercial projects.
    • Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental standards.
    • Proficiency with quantity takeoff tools, BIM, and surveying software.

    Core Competencies:

    • Advanced understanding of construction practices, codes, and regulatory standards.
    • Knowledge of National Building Code (NBC), ANSI/ASHRAE, and LEED standards.
    • Familiarity with general contracting, design-build, and value-based projects.
    • Proficiency in interpreting AutoCAD drawings and validating quantities.
    • Strong negotiation, analytical, and commercial skills.
    • Excellent multitasking, planning, and prioritization abilities.
    • Expertise in contract law and construction contract administration.

    Civil Engineer (Technical Sales Focus)

    Description

    • This role combines core civil engineering responsibilities with technical support and technical sales functions, requiring the ability to interpret engineering requirements, provide on-site and remote technical guidance, and support client-facing technical discussions that influence project decisions and solutions.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Develop and review engineering designs, drawings, cost estimates, and feasibility studies in compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
    • Provide technical support and advisory services to project teams, contractors, and stakeholders, including real-time troubleshooting of engineering issues.
    • Support technical sales and client engagement by contributing to proposals, client meetings, and translating requirements into engineering solutions.
    • Supervise site activities to ensure adherence to approved designs, quality standards, and construction specifications.
    • Enforce QA/QC procedures and ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
    • Monitor project progress, budgets, and resource utilization while supporting procurement and vendor evaluation.
    • Prepare technical reports, documentation, and progress updates, and act as a liaison between site teams, management, and clients.

    Qualifications & Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
    • Professional certification or registration with COREN is an added advantage.
    • 3–5 years of relevant experience in construction, infrastructure, or structural engineering projects.
    • Experience in technical sales, client-facing engineering, or technical solution support is highly desirable.
    • Proficiency in engineering design and CAD software.
    • Strong knowledge of safety regulations, building codes, and quality standards.
    • Proven ability to provide technical support, troubleshooting, and engineering guidance.
