Responsibilities

Curriculum Developer for Government Studies:

• Responsible for designing and implementing a comprehensive curriculum for government studies, ensuring alignment with WAEC, IGCSE, SAT, and TOEFL standards.
• Develop instructional materials and assessment tools to enhance student learning and performance.

Assessment Coordinator:

• Oversee the preparation, administration, and evaluation of examination-related assessments, including WAEC marking and standardized tests for IGCSE, SAT, and TOEFL.
• Analyze student performance data to improve teaching strategies and curriculum effectiveness.
• Demonstrate best practices in teaching government studies and preparing students for WAEC and international examinations.
• Demonstrate effective teaching methods and assessment strategies.

Online Instructor for Government Studies:

• Develop and deliver engaging online courses in government studies, focusing on WAEC, IGCSE, SAT, and TOEFL content.
• Utilize technology and multimedia resources to enhance virtual learning experiences for students.

Mentorship Program Coordinator:

• Establish and lead mentorship programs for students pursuing careers in government or related fields.
• Facilitate workshops and seminars to educate students on the importance of civic engagement and government processes.

Community Outreach Coordinator:

• Engage with local communities to promote awareness of government education and civic responsibility.
• Assist students in preparing for exams like WAEC, IGCSE, SAT, and TOEFL, offering guidance on study techniques and resources.

Job Summary

• The high school nurse plays a crucial role in promoting student health and well-being within the school environment.
• This position involves assessing student health needs, providing immediate medical care, and promoting health education to enhance the overall well-being of students.

Responsibilities
Health Assessment:

• Conduct initial health assessments for students, including physical examinations and health screenings.
• Monitor and document student health records, noting changes in health status.

Medical Care:

• Provide first aid and emergency care for injuries, illnesses, and other health-related issues.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the college Doctor and in accordance with school policies.

Health Education:

• Develop and implement health education programs that promote healthy lifestyles and prevent illness.
• Educate students, staff, and parents on health issues, wellness, and disease prevention.

Chronic Disease Management:

• Manage chronic health conditions (e.g., asthma, diabetes) and develop individualized health care plans for affected students, staff and family
• Collaborate with parents, teachers, and healthcare providers to support students with chronic illnesses.

Emergency Preparedness:

• Develop and implement emergency response plans for health-related incidents.
• Participate in safety drills and ensure that health policies are communicated effectively.

Collaboration and Communication:

• Work closely with school administration, teachers, and other staff to promote a healthy school environment.
• Communicate effectively with parents regarding student health issues, concerns, and interventions.

Referral and Follow-Up:

• Refer students to appropriate healthcare providers for further evaluation and treatment as needed.
• Follow up on student health referrals to ensure continuity of care.

Health Record Management:

• Maintain accurate and confidential health records in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor immunization records and ensure compliance with state health mandates.

Advocacy:

• Advocate for student health and wellness within the school and the broader community.

 Qualifications

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent.
• Valid nursing license (RN) minimum. Other qualification will be added advantage.

Experience:

• Previous experience in a school setting or pediatric nursing preferred.

Certifications:

• CPR and First Aid certification.
• School nurse certification may be required

 Skills:

• Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with students, parents, and staff.
• Knowledge of health promotion and disease prevention strategies.
• Proficient in using electronic health records and school health management software.

Working Conditions:

• Work in a school environment with exposure to various health issues.
• May require occasional lifting and physical activity in response to emergencies.

Salary
N100,000 - N120,000 monthly.
