    Geography Teacher

    Responsibilities

    • Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons in Geography according to the approved curriculum (British, Nigerian, or integrated as applicable).
    • Teach students about physical and human geography, environmental issues, map reading, fieldwork techniques, and current global issues.
    • Develop lesson notes, schemes of work, and teaching aids to enhance learning.
    • Assess, record, and report on students’ progress through tests, assignments, projects, and examinations.
    • Organize and supervise field trips, excursions, and practical activities to support classroom learning.
    • Encourage critical thinking, research skills, and problem-solving in relation to geographical issues.
    • Integrate the use of ICT and multimedia resources in lessons.
    • Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to students both academically and personally.
    • Maintain discipline in line with the school’s rules and regulations.
    • Collaborate with colleagues to promote cross-curricular learning.
    • Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development programs.
    • Contribute to extracurricular activities, clubs, or student projects related to Geography and environmental awareness.

    Qualifications & Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Geography, Environmental Science, or a related field (PGDE is an added advantage).
    • Proven experience teaching Geography at primary/secondary school level.
    • Strong knowledge of both physical and human geography concepts.
    • Ability to use modern teaching tools and technology (e.g., Google Earth, GIS basics, multimedia).
    • Excellent communication, presentation, and classroom management skills.
    • Passion for teaching and inspiring young learners.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills.

    History Teacher

    Responsibilities

    • Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging lessons in History according to the approved curriculum.
    • Teach students about significant historical events, figures, civilizations, and cultures.
    • Develop lesson notes, schemes of work, and educational resources to support learning.
    • Assess and evaluate students through assignments, tests, projects, and examinations.
    • Encourage critical thinking, debate, and research skills in relation to historical issues.
    • Integrate ICT and multimedia resources to enhance teaching and learning.
    • Organize history-related projects, debates, exhibitions, or field trips to museums and heritage sites.
    • Provide academic guidance and mentorship to students.
    • Maintain discipline and uphold school rules in and out of the classroom.
    • Collaborate with colleagues to promote cross-curricular links (e.g., linking History with Geography, Literature, or Civics).
    • Participate in staff meetings, training, and professional development activities.
    • Contribute to extracurricular clubs, cultural programs, or activities related to History and heritage.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree in History, Education, or related field (PGDE is an added advantage).
    • Teaching experience in History at primary/secondary school level.
    • Strong knowledge of local, national, and world history.
    • Ability to engage students using diverse teaching methods.
    • Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
    • Strong research, analytical, and storytelling abilities.
    • Passion for history and inspiring young learners.
