    Finance/Petroleum Economist

    Job Summary

    Our client, an indigenous Oil and Gas company operating in both the upstream and downstream sectors of the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry is looking to hire a Finance/Petroleum Economist.. The ideal candidate will provide finance leadership and make informed and strategic decisions related to financial management, compliance, risk mitigation, and operational efficiency.

    Responsibilities

    • Provide finance leadership and oversee financial and accounting processes to ensure compliance with Corporate and local policies, statutory requirements and IFRS. 
    • Maintain ethical standards with unyielding integrity. 
    • Lead the smooth implementation of the company’s financial solutions and applications including NAVISION.
    • Serve as the primary contact with independent auditors and audit-related accounting matters. 
    • Manage administration of accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory control accounting and payroll. 
    • Oversee month-end close process to ensure timely closure and financial reports preparation.
    • Prepare annual budgets - Profit & Loss, Cash Flow & Balance Sheet. 
    • Analyze and report variances - Propose and implement remedial action. 
    • Estimate the requirement of funds - short-term and long-term.
    •  Implement financial controls and develop financial management mechanisms to minimize financial risk. 
    • Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and procedures. 
    • Manage the company's financial reporting systems. 
    • Produce accurate financial reports to specific deadlines including Monthly management accounts, Flash reports, Working capital, and Board & Investor Packs.
    • Analyze, interpret and report operating results and make specific recommendations to achieve cost-effectiveness and profit improvements. 
    • Provide gross profit reporting, analyses, and forecasting.
    •  Anticipate management needs and develop analyses in response to those needs and in support of management decisions. 
    • Work with operating personnel to achieve effective balance sheet and assets management
    • Oversee development and carrying out of inventory control procedures, including physical stock-take and audit. 
    • Account for and maintain proper inventory reserves for Excess, Expired and Obsolete Inventory. 
    • Review the assets register to keep track of and safeguard the company.
    • Daily control of elements affecting working capital. 
    • Oversee operational cash management and cash flow forecasting. 
    • Oversee preparation of financial accounts for auditing purposes. 
    • Oversee annual audits. 
    • Liaising with auditors to ensure that annual monitoring is carried out effectively. 
    • Conduct internal audits Control Function.
    • Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures and internal controls in support of business processes and decisions.
    • Ensure all activities comply with relevant Acts, legal demands, ethical standards, and internal management policies. 
    • Review the preparation and submission of company statutory documents.

    Requirements

    • B.Sc/HND in Accounting, Business Management or any related field
    • MBA/M.Sc. in a related field will be an added advantage.
    • Professional certification (ACA, ACCA, FCA) is compulsory.
    • A minimum of seven  (7) years of relevant work experience, with at least 4 years in a senior leadership position.
    • Relevant experience as a Finance Manager in the oil & gas industry is essential.

    Lead Engineer

    Job Summary

    Our client, an indigenous Oil and Gas company operating in both the upstream and downstream sectors of the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry is looking to hire a Lead Engineer. The ideal candidate will direct, engage and support external consultants or contractors on project deliverables and ensure that the Process engineering design for every capital project is carried out safely according to applicable codes and standards utilizing industry best practices to achieve quality project delivery on time with no error.

    Responsibilities

    • Responsible for delivering the process and utility engineering design packages for projects, as appropriate for each phase, in line with the corporate goal of top-quartile, competitive and affordable projects 
    • Apply the relevant engineering standards & specifications in line with DEM1 & 2 requirements aligned to the Project management framework and DCAF to deliver the appropriate engineering and design requirements and ensure value creation and protection.
    • Ensure all Process engineering discipline requirements and inputs are made into design deliverables across project maturation and delivery phases such as BFD, BDEP, PES, PEP, ITT, etc. in close coordination with other technical disciplines to ensure integrated project delivery.
    • Develop & review all process and utilities requirements on design and technical deliverables, including quality control of deliverables, whilst meeting process technical safety assurances, to ensure the quality and technical integrity of new installations complies with the required standards and codes; applying requisite design criteria and standards as prescribed by the company and best practice in the industry; and applying strategies that aim for minimum life cycle costs.
    • Carry out basic design and engineering work: design calculations, simulations, Work scope definition, project specifications, selection of standards, and Preliminary Design Drawings as may be required for specific projects.
    • Carry out discipline and intra-discipline design reviews, Joint Design Reviews, constructability reviews, models reviews, HAZID/HAZOP, PSSR reviews, etc. on third-party design packages, including, BFD, FEED, Detailed Design to ensure compliance of the deliverables with provisions of the applicable Design standards and specifications as part of the overall project quality assurance program.
    • Provide support for process engineering studies and change impact analysis as part of the Management of Change (MOC) procedure. Review and advise on Engineering Technical Queries (ETQ), and Construction Technical Queries (CTQ) and mitigate actual and potential impacts on project philosophy and existing design.
    • Review vendor documentation to ensure compliance with requisite standards, codes and regulations for integration within the project design. Provide input for equipment selection and integration, and implement best practices for integration of equipment within a modularization philosophy including inspection/commissioning/testing related to commissioning, start and integration of new facilities.
    • Perform the role of Discipline Q-Captain to ensure flawless project delivery.
    • Demonstrate HSSE Leadership, champion production risks and process safety accountabilities in implementation, execution, and management of process & utilities integration support with new plant projects, growth projects and Third-Party Projects.
    •  Drive the review of and learnings from proactive observations and incidents.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering or other Engineering/science discipline.
    • A minimum of Second class lower division in Chemical Engineering or other Engineering/science discipline.
    • A minimum of 5 years post-graduate experience with at least 3 years of Process Engineering experience in the oil and gas industry. 
    • Possess relevant experience in process, conceptual and design development, process control, modelling and analysis in Petrochemical, Refinery, E&P and Gas plant environments. 

    SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

    • Relevant experience in projects, design, modelling, asset support, and project management software.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, and Microsoft Project.
    • Knowledge of local, state, and federal building code regulations.
    • Ability to build solid relationships with team members, vendors, and customers
