    Human Resources Intern

    Under the supervision of the Snr HRO, provide operational support to implement an effective functional Human Resources (HR) processes in team functional areas, including recruitment, administration, and employee relations.

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • File all documents appropriately into personnel files and subject files daily
    • Assist in the scheduling of interviews – set up interview calendar and share with interview panelists.
    • Print, package, and file new hire documentations.
    • Manage all subject matter and personnel physical files and ensure systematic filing of documents.
    • Support in drafting potential hire reference letters to referees and collate reports for candidate’s personnel files.
    • Print I D card for staff and process review through the SHRO before distribution or dispatch.
    • Assist in preparing staff introductory letters
    • Follow up with processing of travel, accommodation, per diem, HMO invoices  and transportation advances for new hires with finance focal person.
    • Assist in filing and tracking of purchase and staffing requisitions.
    • Perform other duties as they are identified and assigned.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

    • Ability to maintain confidentiality for sensitive Human Resources issues or projects and use judgment to execute duties and responsibilities.
    • Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks Computer literate and proficient in word processing, spreadsheets, graphics design and power point.
    • Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills with ability to work as a team member.
    • Ability to travel in Nigeria minimum of 25%.

    MININMUM RECRUITMENT STANDARDS

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management, Business/Public Administration or related field with at least a year experience in the areas outlined.
    • Must be Computer literate and able to use Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Must have a good interpersonal relationship and able to use internet and emails.
    • Experience with large complex organization is required, familiarity with international NGOs preferred.

    Finance Intern

    A Finance Intern is responsible for providing support to the finance department and gaining valuable hands-on experience in various finance-related tasks. This is a full-time, temporary position that provides an opportunity to work with a team of experienced professionals and develop essential skills in finance.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Assist with the preparation of financial reports and analysis
    • Participate in budget preparation and monitoring
    • Support the accounts payable and receivable processes
    • Help with the maintenance of accurate financial records
    • Conduct research and data analysis to support various finance projects
    • Provide administrative support to the finance department as needed

    Qualifications:

    • Currently holds a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance with grade not below 21 and with a professional qualification of ACCA, ACA or ACMA. Two years post-NYSC.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

    Travel Intern

    The Intern will assist the Travel Manager in providing services related to domestic and international travels for the FHI staff so as to ensure effective and efficient internal and external movement of staff.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:          

    • Collaborate with Travel Manager and represent and negotiate FHI interests to current and prospective travel agencies.
    • Work with travel agency as needed to obtain cost-effective international tickets and hotel reservations.
    • Assist in liaison with travel agency regarding services and equipment used in the Travel Office and with accounting budget information related to travel.
    • Assist in the arrangement of hotel accommodation (in Abuja) for FHI 360 employees, consultants etc.
    • With Travels Manager participate in the periodical survey and update of hotel information at the state level.
    • Assist in the creating, keeping and managing a database of important/relevant addresses and contacts (e.g. Embassies, High Commissions, UN Agencies, Development Agencies, Implementing Partners, etc.).
    • Assist in fuel reconciliation and monthly report
    • Perform other related activities assigned

    Knowledge, skills and abilities:

    • Knowledge of basic accounting and all phases of travel agency operations, including automated systems.
    • Knowledge of geography and travel coordination for states in Nigeria, developing countries, USAID and other donor travel regulations.
    • Interact with diplomacy and tact and follow-up on requests in timely and efficient manner.
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Written and verbal communication skills.
    • Relevant computer software skills with proficiency in excel. Ability to travel in Nigeria minimum of 25%. 

    Qualifications and requirements:

    • B.Sc./BA/HND in Business Administration, the Social Sciences.
