    Registered Nurse / Midwife

    Job Description

    • We are recruiting Nurse Midwives who have recently started their career to join our team.
    • You will be provided with opportunities to develop your skills, gaining valuable experience within all areas of the maternity service.
    • The post holder will be responsible for the provision of autonomous, evidence-based, women-centred nursing-midwifery care, whilst working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team, other agencies, representatives and service users.
    • The post holder will provide support to other midwives within the service.

    Responsibilities
    Clinical:

    • Plan and implement individualised nursing and nursing-midwifery care that is women, pregnant person, child and family centred.
    • Facilitate the participation of service users and their families in all decision making, ensuring informed choice dialogue.
    • Ensure all risk assessments and referrals are completed and actioned and documented.
    • Follow nursing-midwifery/obstetric guidelines where appropriate and liaise with the multidisciplinary team in the implementation of patient care, reporting and recording any deviations from the protocol.

    Administration:

    • Be responsible for the reporting and the proper maintenance of equipment.
    • Be responsible at times for obtaining and the safekeeping of drugs as delegated.
    • Be responsible for the proper and economical use of storage and supplies in the department and report any anticipated deficiencies in stock.
    • Be responsible for the collection of statistics and data regarding own nursing-midwifery practice and as required by the Care Group/Trust.

    Personnel:

    • Responsible for day-to-day management of your own workload. This may include management of staff and team in the absence of the Hospital Matron.
    • Participate in the orientation and development of new staff.
    • Participate in the appraisal of staff as appropriate.

    Requirements
    Essential criteria:

    • Current Nigerian Nursing and Midwifery Council Registered Midwife
    • Experience of working in all clinical areas
    • Able to demonstrate a good level of theoretical midwifery knowledge
    • Knowledge of relevant professional rules and codes of practice
    • Clinical skills and competence in suturing and cannulation.

    Medical Laboratory Scientist

    Description

    • The medical laboratory scientist is expected to use his technical knowledge and skills to deliver quality and accurate diagnostics services to the patients.
    • The role involves performing routine and advanced medical laboratory tests and procedures, equipment maintenance, and ensuring the existing quality management system is maintained
    • Performing pre-analytical procedures e.g. sample collection, separation, accessioning, packaging, review of samples for acceptance or rejection, etc.
    • Operate and maintain medical diagnostics analyzers, instruments, and other tabletop tools.
    • Perform sample testing and reporting, Identification of critical results, and escalating same as per set protocol.
    • Performs necessary equipment calibration, running of controls, reviewing internal quality controls, and actioning of same.
    • Keeping relevant documentation up to date (e.g. work cards, worksheets, inventory logs, maintenance logs, etc.).
    • Timeous release of laboratory results (within stipulated Turnaround times).
    • Maintaining good laboratory practices.
    • Optimization of the use of laboratory commodities (reagents, consumables, kits, others).
    • Utilizes LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System) for specimen tracking, results entry, result approval, and reporting.
    • Maintains strict patient information protection and confidentiality.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Sciences (BMLS) with a current practising license issued by the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria (MLSCN).
    • 1-3 years post-NYSC work experience (preferably in a hospital-based laboratory).

    Nurse

    Position Summary

    • An outpatient nurse observes patients on a regular basis and charts symptoms and progress. It is the responsibility of an outpatient nurse to report changes and concerns to, Medical directors, Clinic Managers, physicians and specialists.

    Job Description

    • Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care.
    • Responsible for drawing blood, checking vital signs, monitoring blood pressure, temperature and pulse, and ensure that IV lines are maintained
    • Assist medical officers and specialists during, examinations and treatments, vaccinations.
    • Assist medical officers and specialists in preparing patients for medical procedures such as minor surgeries, and diagnostic tests. and ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are available
    • Responsible for administering medications as prescribed, ensuring proper dosage and compliance with treatment regimens and monitoring patients for adverse reactions
    • Closely monitor patients' progress and document their observations, treatments, and any changes in health status for accurate record-keeping.
    • Educating patients and their families about their medical conditions, treatment options, and self-care techniques to promote overall well-being
    • Engage in telephone triage, providing advice and guidance to patients who seek medical assistance over the phone.
    • Perform wound care, including cleaning and dressing changes, for patients with injuries or surgical wounds.
    • Ensuring the functionality of the ward and associated facilities daily
    • Ensuring documentation of postoperative note
    • Providing emotional support to patients and relatives.
    • Maintain strict patient confidentiality
    • To undertake ward rounds, make an entry in the patient’s notes as appropriate or any other patient examinations, communication or procedures.
    • Adhere strictly to the organization’s ethical standards, medical protocols, SOPs, and regulations.
    • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
    • Other duties as assigned by MD Clinical and Administration, Medical Director or Board of Directors

    Qualification, Skill, Knowledge and Abilities

    • Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN)
    • Must have 4-8 years of industry/clinical experience
    • Registered Nurse (RN) with a current practicing license.
    • Excellent clinical skills with a strong focus on patient-centered care.
    • Comfortable using basic technology including laptops and tablet devices
    • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
    • Effective interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Strong customer service skills.
    • Strong problem-solving skills.
