ABOUT THE ROLE

The Financial Officer (FO) provides strategic leadership for the Finance function and serves as a key member of the Executive Management Team. The role is responsible for developing and implementing the organization's financial strategy, ensuring sound financial management, regulatory compliance, effective risk management, capital planning, treasury management, and accurate financial reporting. The FO provides financial insights that support strategic decision-making, sustainable growth, and long-term value creation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepare financial projections and budgets in line with business plan
• Lead, inspire, develop and guide a high performing Finance team
• Provide strategic leadership for all finance and accounting functions across the Group. 
• Develop and implement the organization's financial strategy in alignment with corporate objectives.
• Oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance monitoring.
• Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Lead the preparation and presentation of management reports to the Executive Management Team and Board of Directors.
• Oversee treasury management, liquidity planning, cash flow optimization, and capital allocation.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable financial regulations, tax laws, corporate governance requirements, and statutory obligations.
• Oversee external and internal audit processes and ensure prompt 
• implementation of audit recommendations. 
• Drive financial modelling, investment analysis, and business performance evaluation to support strategic initiatives.
• Lead negotiations with banks, investors, regulators, auditors, and other key financial stakeholders.
• Provide oversight for taxation, financial reporting, payroll governance, procurement finance, and statutory remittances.
• Establish and monitor financial policies, procedures, and operational standards across the organization.

REQUIRED SKILLS

• Strong executive leadership and strategic thinking abilities.
• Advanced financial analysis and corporate finance expertise.
• Excellent knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
• Strong understanding of banking, investment or financial services operations.
• Exceptional budgeting, forecasting and financial planning capabilities.
• Excellent treasury and cash flow management skills.
• Strong risk management and internal control expertise
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong business acumen and commercial awareness. 
• Proven ability to influence executive decision-making.

ACADEMIC REQUIREMENT
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline Professional qualification such as ICAN, ACCA, CPA or equivalent is mandatory
