    Finance Manager

    Job Summary

    • We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Finance Manager to oversee the financial operations of Horatio Limited.
    • The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial planning, analysis, budgeting, and reporting, ensuring accurate financial records, and facilitating effective financial reconciliation between the subsidiary and other entities within the group.
    • This role requires strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Ensure accurate and timely financial records are maintained in accordance with accounting standards and company policies.
    • Oversee the preparation and submission of statutory financial statements and tax filings.
    • Checking, Coordinating, Recording, Computing, and reporting all procedures relating to cheque payments to all suppliers after approval by signatories.
    • Reconciling all bank accounts with system generated statement using available accounting software.
    • Verification and journalizing of all bank charges e.g. COT, INT, VAT, WHT.
    • Payment of staff salaries, wages and claims as submitted from HR Department and approved by the managing director.
    • Preparation of management financial reports and account reports required for Board of Directors meeting.
    • Posting of all sales invoice individually into the system for all cost centers (i.e both Naira and Dollar Transaction)
    • Monthly schedule and payment of statutory dues: PAYE, Pension, etc.
    • Ensure the quantity level of purchased materials and components conform to specifications of the LPO issued and approved by Managing Director
    • Manage cash flow, including forecasting and working capital management.
    • Perform regular financial reconciliations between the subsidiary and other entities within the group.
    • Collaborate with finance teams across other subsidiaries to resolve discrepancies and ensure financial alignment.
    • Coordinate intercompany transactions, including invoicing and cost allocations
    • Journalizing all expenses: ticket after reconciling with advances; Horatio debit notes, Hotel and Accommodation expenses, etc for all cost centres.
    • Liaise with external auditors and ensure timely completion of audits.
    • Maintain compliance with local laws, regulations, and internal financial policies.
    • Ensure internal controls are in place and operating effectively.
    • Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team.
    • Ensure staff are equipped with the necessary skills and training to meet financial objectives.
    • Computation and filling of monthly VAT returns for the company
    • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
    • Provide financial insights to the subsidiary's leadership team to support decision-making.
    • Assist in the evaluation of new projects, investments, and business opportunities.
    • Any assigned duty by management towards effective and lawful discharge of duties and responsibilities.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (Master’s degree or professional certification such as ICAN/ACCA is a plus).
    • Minimum of 7 years of experience in financial management, preferably in a group or multi-subsidiary structure.

    Required Skills:

    • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial analysis, and budgeting.
    • Experience with financial reconciliation between subsidiaries or intercompany transactions.
    • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
    • Proficiency in financial management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
    • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

    Quality Assurance and Quality Control (QAQC) Supervisor

    Job Summary

    • The QA/QC Supervisor is responsible for managing and overseeing the implementation of Quality Assurance and Quality Control processes on a project. This role involves coordinating, supervising, and ensuring the completion of all construction inspections and testing services to meet project quality standards.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Review subcontractor or supplier quality document submittals (Quality Plans, Inspection Test & Plans, procedures), to ensure effective controls are in place in key areas.
    • Prepare the QAQC project documentation (Project Quality Plan, Project Procedures and/or Instructions, Method Statements, Inspection & Test Plans, and Checklists) In line with the contractual requirements and the applicable international standards and codes.
    • Check and review construction/installation sketches and/or shop drawings, and ensure that the sketches/drawings conform to the project specifications and standards.
    • Coordinates with client representatives on matters involving quality assurance and control activities.
    • Develop and implement quality control processes, procedures, and guidelines to ensure consistency, reliability, and compliance with quality standards and regulations.
    • Conduct inspections and audits of materials, components, and finished products or services to identify quality issues, defects, or non-conformities.
    • Monitor overall construction performance with regard to technical quality and compliance with design and specification requirements
    • Assist with obtaining permits and other necessary documentation.
    • Review specifications, blueprints, and technical documents to understand quality requirements, tolerances, and acceptance criteria for deliverables.
    • Perform visual inspections, measurements, and tests using precision tools, equipment, and instruments to verify material dimensions, appearance, and functionality.
    • Collect and analyze quality data, metrics, and performance indicators to evaluate process capabilities, identify trends, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
    • Document and report quality findings, deviations, and corrective actions taken, maintaining accurate records, logs, and inspection reports for traceability and accountability.
    • Accountable for the quality and workmanship of every activity, precise knowledge of all aspects of engineering and mechanical construction relating to Civil
    • Responsible for QA/QC documents of the complete project including certificates, calibration, test results, inspection requests, non-compliance reports and site instruction/observations, permanent materials delivered, and other important QA/QC documents.
    • Develop and determine all standards to perform inspection and tests on all procedures and oversee all testing methods and maintain high standards of quality for all processes.
    • Liaise with the Technical Engineer for submission of material submittals to the Consultant
    • Coordinate with the consultant’s representative and Site in charge for inspection.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or any related field. Relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.

    Experience:

    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a QAQC role, preferably in construction.
    • Proven experience in managing teams and production schedules.
    • Strong background in health and safety regulations.

    Required Skills:

    • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
    • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
    • Proficient in using QAQC tools
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems efficiently.
