Responsibilities

Field Verification

• Conduct physical visits to merchant and guarantor locations to verify business existence, operations, and address authenticity.

Pre-Visit Engagement

• Contact merchants/guarantors prior to visits to confirm identity, availability, and accurate location details.

Data Collection & Documentation

• Capture required information, images, and supporting documents during visits using the designated system/app.

Assessment & Reporting

• Provide accurate and timely verification reports, including risk observations and recommendations.

Compliance & Accuracy

• Ensure all verifications meet company policies, fraud prevention standards, and regulatory requirements.

Merchant Engagement

• Educate merchants on application processes where necessary and ensure proper submission before verification.

Follow-ups & Re-visits

• Conduct revisits where required and follow up on incomplete or pending verifications.

Collaboration

• Work closely with BD (Business Development), CVOs, and internal teams to ensure smooth processing and turnaround time

Repayment Support

• Assist in merchant follow-ups for due/overdue repayments and provide feedback on engagement outcomes.

Requirements

• Experience: 1–2 years as a Verification Officer or Field Credit Officer at a fast-moving fintech or digital lender, with proven ownership of end-to-end processes.
• Bachelor’s in Finance, Business, Data Analytics or related.
• Technical Skills: Excel power-user; quick to learn SQL or BI dashboards. Skilled at creating flowcharts and written guides.
• Core Competencies: Exceptional attention to detail, strong written & verbal communication, solid grasp of Nigerian credit-risk fundamentals and CBN KYC/AML guidelines.

• The candidate will be fully responsible for the company's financial management, communication and cooperation with regulatory authorities, etc. They can lead the local finance team to carry out work effectively and report to the regional finance director of the group. The candidate should possess profound financial professional knowledge, excellent negotiation skills and rich local resources, and be able to effectively deal with complex regulatory environments and promote the stable development of the company.

Job Responsibilities

Accounting and reporting

• Responsible for the company's overall financial accounting, generation of financial statements, and submission to various information demanders, as well as being able to explain the reasons for fluctuations in the statements.
• The author participates in important management meetings of the company and makes financial reports. For example, board meetings, etc
• Coordinate with external auditing institutions for the company's audit and complete the audit report on time

Handle various review affairs of government agencies

• Study the regulatory requirements of the central bank and guide the finance department to conduct various financial compliance management in accordance with the requirements of the CBN.
• Represents the company in responding to reviews, audits and inquiries from institutions such as the central bank and the tax bureau, and efficiently handles regulatory compliance issues.
• Prepare and submit all kinds of financial reports and documents required by regulations, ensuring their accuracy and compliance.
• Actively communicate with regulatory authorities and maintain good relationships with various regulatory agencies

Team collaboration and Risk control

• Work with internal teams to optimize financial processes, improve the internal control system, and reduce operational and compliance risks.
• Provide financial and tax advice to business departments and support the company's strategic decisions.

Job Requirements

Educational Background and qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or above in finance, accounting, economics or related fields, holding ACA, CNA, ACCA or other relevant professional qualification certifications.
• More than 8 years of experience in financial management, including at least 5 years of working experience in a senior financial manager or above position in an MFB-licensed company

Professional knowledge and skills

• Proficient in financial analysis, tax planning and fund management, capable of independently formulating and implementing financial strategies.
• Have a profound understanding of CBN regulatory requirements and be familiar with the compliance operation procedures of financial companies.

Resources and Capabilities

• It has a good network of relationships with the Nigerian Tax Authority, accounting firms and regulatory agencies.
• Outstanding negotiation, communication and crisis management skills, capable of efficiently resolving complex regulatory and tax issues.

Language requirements

• Cross-cultural communication is smooth, clear and accurate financial and compliance reports and analyses can be provided to the management of the China headquarters.
• Assist the Chinese financial manager in handling local financial matters and ensure the accuracy of information transmission.
• Clearly convey the group's strategic requirements to the local team and assist in their implementation.
