    Electrician

    Job Summary

    • The Electrician ensures the effective operation of all electrical tools and equipment on board the drilling rig, keeping downtime to an absolute minimum. This includes electrical lights, electrical components of motors, engines, generators, tools, etc.

    Principal Duties and Responsibilities

    • Advanced knowledge of repair and rebuilding electrical components and wiring of electrical motors and equipment Maintains and repairs all rig electrical equipment and systems which include: Generators and Generator control systems, Transforming systems, Drilling system, Electrical motors, Jacking systems, Pumps, Air conditioning and refrigeration systems, Crane electrical systems, Inter communication equipment, Power generators, Lighting fixtures, Alarms, Fuses and Switches.
    • Adhere to company planned preventive maintenance plan to minimize down time and maximize safety.
    • Adhere to rig mobilization procedures and related maintenance as directed by operations manual.
    • Responsible for own personal safety and the safety of co-workers.
    • Participates in rig safety meetings and other rig safety programs.
    • Active participation in the Ensco STOP program.
    • Follows correct lock-out, tag-out procedures.
    • Shows commitment to Ensco safety culture through personal behavior and willingness to influence others.
    • Eliminates all electrical hazards as they are identified. Establishes effective barriers when unable to remove hazards.
    • Ensure all electrical tools and equipment is kept in safe working order.
    • Maintain proper level of electrical parts, spares and equipment inventories.
    • Assists the Mechanics and Welders on special projects when requested to do so.
    • Ensure activities are conducted in compliance with the company Permit to Work system.
    • Maintains appropriate logs and records in accordance with company, regulatory and certification agencies requirements.
    • Follow the provisions of the National Electrical Code, USCG, HSE, Fire Prevention Codes and other regulations that may apply.
    • Assists in corporate and regulatory inspections.
    • Responsible for creating an environment in which open communications concerning safety issues can occur at the appropriate levels in the organization for appropriate action and resolution.
    • Conducts pre-task meetings and when a work order is required, under-takes the work required with authorization.
    • Responsible to keep up with training requirements for position and submit training request in time to keep all certification current.

    Requirements
    Education and Training:

    • Completion of High School education and the completion of all training and certification requirements for Electrician.
    • These will vary by unit location according to local requirements and regulations. Specific unit requirements will be found in local job specification procedures and guidelines.

    Experience:

    • 7 years working as an Electrician on an offshore drilling rig is preferred.

    Other Requirements:

    • Good interpersonal skills, ability to communicate effectively, excellent team working and organizational skills.
    • Physically capable of being transported to an offshore rig by boat or helicopter.
    • Must be capable of working in a confined Marine environment.
    • Must have excellent conflict resolution skills and be able to diplomatically handle confrontation.
    • Must be committed to a high standard of safety and be willing and able to comply with all safety laws and all of the employer’s safety policies and rules and must be willing to report safety violations and potential safety violations to appropriate supervisory or management personnel.
    • Be able to maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such level as is determined in the employer’s sole discretion.
    • Be available and willing to travel to such locations and with such frequency as the employer determines is necessary or desirable to meet its business needs.
    • Physically capable of performing emergency procedures including evacuations, fire drills, and other Emergencies.
    • PC proficiency required. Competency with Microsoft Office Software suite version 2007 or greater.

    Toolpusher

    Job Summary

    • Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the drilling unit and all personnel involved in the rig up and rig down, drilling, and completion procedures.

    Principal Duties and Responsibilities

    • Supports OIM in managing the operation and safety of drilling rig.
    • Administers and supports safety systems in all aspects of rig operation.
    • Ensures application of appropriate well control measures.
    • Assists in organization and supervision of casing, cementing, well testing, wireline, and workover operations.
    • Participates in on-the-job and formal training of the crew.
    • Assists in implementation of preventative and planned maintenance programs.
    • Ensures all installation equipment and surfaces meet regulatory specifications and company requirements.
    • Maintains appropriate logs and records in accordance with company, regulatory, and certification agency requirements.
    • Responsible for keeping up with training requirements for positions and submit request in time to keep all certificates current.

    Requirements
    Education and Training:

    • Completion of High School education or equivalent and the completion of all training and certification requirements. These will vary by unit location according to local requirements and regulations. Specific unit requirements will be found in local job specification procedures and guidelines.
    • Current well control certification required preferably supervisory level.

    Experience:

    • 12 years’ experience as a Toolpusher on a drilling rig (not workover), land or offshore.
    • Previous offshore experience on drillship rigs preferred.

    Other Requirements:

    • Good interpersonal skills, ability to communicate effectively, excellent team working and organizational skills.
    • Physically capable of being transported to an offshore rig by boat or helicopter.
    • Must be capable of working in a confined Marine environment.
    • Must have excellent conflict resolution skills and be able to diplomatically handle confrontation.
    • Must be committed to a high standard of safety and be willing and able to comply with all safety laws and all of the employer’s safety policies and rules and must be willing to report safety violations and potential safety violations to appropriate supervisory or management personnel.
    • Be able to maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such level as is determined in the employer’s sole discretion.
    • Be available and willing to travel to such locations and with such frequency as the employer determines is necessary or desirable to meet its business needs.

    Driller

    Job Summary

    • Responsible for the operation of drilling equipment and machinery, including the fluids-circulation system. Directs drilling crew in assuring optimum drilling process.

    Principal Duties and Responsibilities

    • Manages the safety and operation of the drill floor equipment according to Ensco procedures and manufacturer’s specifications.
    • Conducts pre-tour, pre-task planning, safety orientations, and safety meetings.
    • Monitors safety training and safety meetings of crews.
    • Controls operation of well control equipment.
    • Assists specialized contractors during wireline, casing, and cementing operations.
    • Administers preventative maintenance program on all drilling equipment.
    • Maintains appropriate logs and records in accordance with company, regulatory, and certification agency requirements.
    • Operates drilling equipment and coordinates the operation of machinery and equipment necessary to prepare to drill and to drill.
    • Operates the draw works to lift casing, drill collars and drill pipes as required to connect joints of pipe together.
    • Operates drilling fluid circulating pumps to discharge the fluid from the pit into the drill string.
    • Controls power to the drill pipe tongs used to tighten or break loose pipe connection joints.
    • Interprets gauge readings showing status of weight indicator, rotary revolutions, circulation system flow and others for an optimum drilling process.
    • Monitors drilling fluid status and alarms to ensure within specified criteria.
    • Conducts pit drills for crew as required.
    • Conducts a flow check on every connection.
    • Controls operation of well control equipment.
    • Responsible for all equipment which is run into the well bore.
    • Monitors assigned jacking station during jacking operations.
    • Responsible for pipe and casing tallies.
    • Responsible for maintaining check and tracking documents as required including: Trip Sheets, Trend Monitoring, and HPHT Finger Printing.
    • Responsible for own personal safety and the safety of co-workers.
    • Demonstrates commitment to Ensco’s safety culture through personal behavior and ability to influence others.
    • Participates in rig safety meetings and other rig safety programs.
    • Conduct and monitor safety training and safety meetings of drilling crews.
    • Encourage all personnel to participate in the Ensco STOP program.
    • Follows correct lock-out, tag-out procedures.
    • Responsible for the safety of the drilling crew and the safe operation of the drill floor equipment according to Ensco safety procedures and policies and the operational procedures of the equipment manufacturers.
    • Responsible for training AD in proper Ensco policies and procedures.
    • Responsible to keep up with training requirements for position and submit training request in time to keep all certification current.

    Requirements
    Education and Training:

    • Completion of High School education minimum and the completion of all training and certification requirements. These will vary by unit location according to local requirements and regulations.
    • Specific unit requirements will be found in local job specification procedures and guidelines.
    • Current Well Control certificate required.

    Experience:

    • Seven years’ experience as a Driller on a drilling rig (not workover). Experience operating top-drive strongly preferred. Previous offshore experience on jack-ups preferred.

    Other Requirements:

    • Good interpersonal skills, ability to communicate effectively, excellent team working and organizational skills.
    • Physically capable of being transported to an offshore rig by boat or helicopter.
    • Must be capable of working in a confined Marine environment.
    • Must have excellent conflict resolution skills and be able to diplomatically handle confrontation.
    • Must be committed to a high standard of safety and be willing and able to comply with all safety laws and all of the employer’s safety policies and rules and must be willing to report safety violations and potential safety violations to appropriate supervisory or management personnel.
