    Driver / Logistics Assistant - BMZ TDA Project

    These are your responsibilities

    • Provides Mechanical operations support to CBM Nigeria Country Coordination office. Provide logistics support and assigned transportation schedule in line with best practice in safety and security while driving.
    • Ensure all vehicles have all accessories, submission of status reports, maintenance, fuel, vehicle cleanliness and general observation of SOPs.
    • Ensure that the Licenses are up-to date and that vehicles are well maintained and serviced on time as the need arises.
    • Ensure that all vehicles are fitted with the necessary security apparatus.
    • Be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of the assigned vehicle, checks oil, water, battery, brakes, tires, and perform minor repairs, arranges for other repairs, and ensures that the vehicle is kept clean.
    • Ensure availability of all the required documents/supplies including insurance, vehicle logs, first aid kit, necessary spare parts/assistive tools are in each CBM vehicle.
    • Ensure that all vehicles assigned are serviced and properly checked before undertaking a long drive.
    • Ensure that the vehicle is kept clean and tidy always.
    • Drive staff members and official visitors for project-related trips, activities and assignments as requested.
    • Facilitate the transfer of project visitors to/from their respective hotels to the office as well as airport transfers upon request.
    • Maintain an up-date record of the logbook (mileage, destinations, times & passengers, maintenance, fuel) for each trip in the book provided.
    • Acts as interpreter when carrying passengers who do not understand the local languages and whenever required.
    • Uphold and abide by all relevant travel policy, vehicle policy and local traffic rules and standards.
    • Induct staff on vehicle SOPs before embarking on field mission.
    • Ensures that the steps required by rules and regulations are taken in case of involvement in an accident.
    • Follow all security and safety protocols to always ensure the protection of passengers and vehicles.
    • Present proper receipts on any expenditure incurred on their vehicle to the Officer in charge.
    • Ensure that the line manager is immediately informed of any incidents and that the incident report form is filled immediately and reported to the police where necessary.
    • Provide support to Admin Unit in area of asset listing and tagging.
    • Provide support in asset management/repairs supervision.
    • Liase with vendors to ensure the CBM gets quality goods and services at best possible price.

    These are your qualifications

    • Minimum Secondary School Leaving certificate or equivalent.
    • A valid driving license (class B, C, E preferable)/ certification to operate assigned vehicle following local rules and regulations.
    • At least four (4) years of related work experience, with minimum of one (1) year working with international NGO preferred and at least three (3) years being in the operating state.
    • Basic Computer appreciation skill and knowledge of Microsoft office packages will be an advantage.
    • Excellent knowledge of local driving rules and regulations, traffic laws, a good knowledge of the city and alternate routes to enable quick access.
    • Knowledge of safety standards and safety equipment (e.g., fire extinguisher).
    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
    • Basic skills to assist in case of emergency, knowledge of basic first aid methods.
    • Experience working in insecure areas and adhering to strict safety, security and safeguarding policies required.
    • Fluency in spoken and written English. Understanding of local language is an added advantage.
    • Ability to cope under pressure and meet deadlines and efficiently manage a range of tasks concurrently to meet diverse needs.
    • Ability to integrate into a multi-cultural environment and willingness to learn.
    • Able to work independently, and as a member of a team with a high level of integrity.
    • Willingness to travel, within and outside the capital city, and other field locations where CBM has its operations.
    • A self-starter who takes initiative and consistently seeks to improve quality in their work.

    Project Officer

    These are your responsibilities

    • Responsible for the development of project ideas, project design; concept note, log frame, proposal narrative and activities for budget planning.
    • Identify Partners in alignment with Country Director, Fundraising teams and Initiative.
    • Collaborate with and support the Partner Portfolio team in planning and conducting partner assessments and addressing identified gaps related to programmes and governance.
    • Preparation and onboarding of partner (Kick off workshops; explanation of CBM's and donor specific tools, processes, and reporting calendar).
    • Partner Capacity Building.
    • Conduct Partner Programmatic Capacity building events/ trainings.
    • Support the CD in Bi-annual/annual review meetings with multiple partners.
    • Project Coordination & Quality Assurance.
    • Coordination with partners on agreed activities and timelines. Ensure activities are carried out by the partner as per agreed timeline.
    • Communicating with partners on project progress; guidance to partners on implementation issues.
    • Manage Budget and/ or activity change requests: Alignment/discussion with partners, analysis of budget or activities and managing deviations, communication and coordination with relevant divisions.
    • Conduct monitoring visits to Partners: Remote or travel on-site. Pre-arrangements and coordination with partner, ToRs development, documents check (including a high-level check of key vouchers), stakeholder meetings, debrief, monitoring report, follow up on agreed actions.
    • Evaluations: ToRs development, consultant recruitment, capturing and dissemination of learnings; follow up on actions.
    • Documentation, dissemination, and representation of learnings/best practices - internal & external.
    • Project Reporting: Review and finalize all reports, programmatic and financial Check activity and budget status to calculate forecast and Request of Funds.
    • Ensure compliance with donor requirements and organizational policies.
    • Follow up on programmatic and governance related actions.
    • Risk Identification and Mitigation: Identify project risks/ issues and develop mitigation plans. Ensure implementation, monitoring, and follow-up.
    • Compliance assurance: Ensure that implementing partner has programmatic systems, processes, and capacities in place to guarantee compliance with CBM requirements.
    • Support in implementation of Partner Assessment programme and governance related recommendations and actions.
    • Set up of project in PROMIS and ensure project related data in PROMIS is kept updated during implementation and completion.
    • Timely Forecasting, Budget adjustments in system considering unspent funds & unimplemented activities, maintain monitoring system and carryout required status updates (forecasts, cost plan revision, upload of reports, Quick Status Review) etc.
    • Ensure internal alignment with relevant stakeholders
    • Represent CBM on behalf of Country Director and upon delegated responsibility to external stakeholders.

    These are your qualifications

    • Education (bachelor’s degree or master’s degree) in Project Management, International Development, or equivalent.
    • At least 2 years of experience in project management within the I/NGO sector, or equivalent.
    • Ability to plan, execute, and oversee projects, ensuring they meet objectives and are completed on time and within budget. Well versed in project management tools and methods (iPCM, Log frame, monitoring tools).
    • Program Management: Skills in managing multiple programs, including coordination, monitoring, and evaluation.
    • Technical Knowledge: Knowledge in specific thematic areas relevant to the organization's mission. Competence in the respective thematic area is an advantage, but a PO is not expected to be an expert in this field. POs are specialists in project management and generalists in the thematic areas.
    • Data Analysis and Forecasting: Proficiency in analysing and forecasting financial and programmatic data to inform decision-making and improve program outcomes.
    • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey information to stakeholders.
    • Interpersonal Skills: Strong ability to collaborate and interact with diverse groups, including team members, partners, and beneficiaries.
    • Problem-Solving: Ability to identify issues and develop effective solutions.
    • Budget Management: Skills in managing program budgets and ensuring financial accountability.
    • Languages: Professional proficiency in English, local language highly appreciated.
