    Role Overview

    • The Divisional Head, Retail & Corporate is a P&L-owning executive role responsible for the end-to-end performance of Remita's Retail and Corporate business division — spanning strategy, business development and revenue growth, product development, and technology delivery. This individual will have full accountability for business outcomes and the technology platforms that power them. The role requires a rare blend of commercial leadership and technology fluency: someone equally comfortable setting go-to-market strategy and revenue targets as they are directing engineering roadmaps and platform architecture decisions. This role reports to the Managing Director.

    Key Responsibilities

    Business Strategy & P&L Ownership

    • Own full profit and loss (P&L) accountability for the Retail & Corporate division, including revenue growth, cost management, and margin optimisation.
    • Define and execute the division's strategic plan in alignment with overall Company strategy and growth targets.
    • Identify and prioritise new revenue streams, market segments, and partnership opportunities within the retail and corporate payments space.
    • Present business performance, strategic plans, and key risks to the Executive Leadership as required.
    • Drive market share growth against competitors in the retail and corporate payments and collections space.

    Revenue Growth & Commercial Leadership

    • Lead business development, and account management functions to deliver against aggressive revenue and customer acquisition targets.
    • Build and maintain strategic relationships with key corporate clients, financial institutions, regulators, and ecosystem partners.
    • Champion a customer-first culture, ensuring retention, satisfaction, and lifetime value are continuously improved.
    • Develop and monitor key commercial KPIs including transaction volumes, revenue per client, churn, and customer acquisition cost.

    Technology & Product Leadership

    • Direct the division's technology strategy and roadmap, ensuring platforms scale reliably to support transaction growth and new product launches.
    • Champion a product-led approach to growth — overseeing the ideation, development, and go-to-market of new retail and corporate payment products and features.
    • Ensure technology delivery is tightly aligned to business priorities, with clear accountability for time-to-market and platform reliability.
    • Maintain a strong working understanding of the division's core technology stack, infrastructure, and data systems to make informed, credible decisions.
    • Drive digital transformation initiatives that enhance self-service capability, automation, and operational efficiency across the division.

    Risk, Compliance & Governance

    • Ensure the division operates in full compliance with CBN regulations, PCI-DSS, NDPR, and other applicable regulatory and industry standards.
    • Partner with Risk, Compliance, and Legal teams to proactively identify and mitigate operational, financial, technology, and reputational risks.
    • Establish strong internal controls and governance frameworks across business development, product, and technology functions within the division.
    • Represent the division in regulatory engagements, audits, and industry forums as required.

    People & Organisational Leadership

    • Build, lead, and develop a high-performing leadership team across business development, product, and technology.
    • Set a clear vision and culture of accountability, urgency, and customer obsession across the division.
    • Drive talent development, succession planning, and performance management for senior leaders within the division.
    • Foster cross-functional collaboration with other divisional Heads, and Executive functions (Finance, HR, Risk, Marketing, Technology).

    Required Qualifications & Experience

    • Minimum of 12 years of progressive leadership experience, including at least 5 years in a senior executive role, with P&L leadership, within fintech, or financial services.
    • Demonstrable track record of driving significant revenue growth and commercial success in a retail and/or corporate banking or payments business.
    • Strong technology fluency — prior experience directing or closely partnering with technology and engineering teams to deliver platform and product outcomes; a background that bridges both business and technology functions is highly preferred.
    • Deep understanding of the Nigerian and/or African payments ecosystem, including regulatory frameworks (CBN, PCI-DSS, NDPR).
    • Proven experience building and leading large, multi-disciplinary teams across business development, product, technology, and operations.
    • Strong financial acumen with experience managing P&Ls and presenting to Boards and Executive Committees.
    • Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with experience engaging regulators, financial institutions, and large corporate clients at the most senior levels.
    • Bachelor's degree required; MBA or equivalent advanced degree strongly preferred.

    Divisional Head, Payment Terminal

    Role Overview

    • The Divisional Head, Payment Terminals is a P&L-owning executive role with full accountability for Remita's Payment Terminals business — encompassing POS terminal deployment, merchant acquiring, terminal-based transaction processing, and the technology platforms that power them. This individual will own everything from merchant acquisition strategy and terminal fleet economics to platform architecture, and field operations. The role demands a leader equally fluent in driving commercial growth in a competitive, high-volume merchant acquiring market and in directing the technology, hardware, and operational systems that underpin the terminal network. This role reports to the Managing Director.

    Key Responsibilities

    Business Strategy & P&L Ownership

    • Own full profit and loss (P&L) accountability for the Payment Terminals division, including transaction revenue, terminal fleet economics, merchant acquisition costs, and margin optimisation.
    • Define and execute the division's strategic plan for growing terminal footprint, transaction volumes, and merchant acquiring market share, in alignment with overall Company strategy.
    • Identify and prioritise new revenue streams including value-added services (VAS) and merchant analytics built on top of the terminal network.
    • Present business performance, strategic plans, and key risks to the Executive Leadership as required.
    • Track and respond to competitive dynamics in Africa's POS and merchant acquiring market, ensuring Remita's terminals remain competitively priced, reliable, and feature-rich.

    Revenue Growth & Commercial Leadership

    • Lead the merchant acquiring, agent network, and channel sales functions to deliver against terminal deployment and transaction volume targets.
    • Build and scale strategic partnerships with merchants, aggregators, super-agents, and corporate retail chains to expand terminal placement nationwide.
    • Oversee merchant pricing, settlement terms, and commercial agreements, balancing growth with sustainable unit economics per terminal.
    • Drive merchant retention and terminal utilisation, ensuring deployed devices remain active and transacting rather than dormant.
    • Develop and monitor key commercial KPIs: terminals deployed, active terminal ratio, transaction volume and value, revenue per terminal, and merchant churn.

    Technology & Product Leadership

    • Direct the division's technology strategy, ensuring the POS application and settlement platforms scale reliably to support a fast-growing terminal fleet and transaction volumes.
    • Partner closely with engineering, hardware/OEM vendors, and product teams to prioritise platform investments, including terminal firmware, and POS application features.
    • Champion a product-led approach to growth — overseeing development of new terminal-based products and value-added services that increase merchant stickiness and revenue per device.
    • Maintain a strong working understanding of POS hardware, payment switching architecture, and terminal management systems (TMS) to make informed, credible technology decisions.
    • Drive continuous improvement in terminal uptime, transaction success rates, and settlement speed through technology and platform enhancements.

Field Operations & Terminal Lifecycle Management

    • Oversee end-to-end terminal lifecycle management: procurement, configuration, deployment, field maintenance, repairs, and decommissioning.
    • Build and manage a nationwide field operations and logistics capability for terminal installation, swaps, and merchant support.
    • Establish and monitor SLAs for terminal uptime, fault resolution turnaround, and merchant support responsiveness.
    • Drive cost-efficient terminal fleet management, balancing capital expenditure on hardware against terminal activation and utilisation rates.
    • Ensure robust business continuity for terminal switching and settlement infrastructure, including failover and disaster recovery planning.

    Risk, Compliance & Governance

    • Ensure the division operates in full compliance with CBN regulations, PCI-DSS, NDPR, and other applicable regulatory and industry standards.
    • Partner with Risk, Compliance, and Legal teams to proactively identify and mitigate fraud, operational, financial, and reputational risks associated with terminal transactions and merchant onboarding.
    • Establish strong KYC/merchant onboarding controls and transaction monitoring to detect and prevent fraudulent terminal activity.
    • Represent the division in regulatory engagements, card scheme audits, and industry forums as required.
