    Director, Investment Promotion and Global Outreach

    Responsibilities and Tasks
    Responsibilities

    • The Director, Investment Promotion & Global Outreach will work under the supervision of the Managing Director.

    Tasks
    The specific tasks for the Director, Investment Promotion & Global Outreach will be as follows:

    • To develop the Go-to-Investor marketing strategies for ESIPO in each focus sector and proactively market potential projects to investors and facilitate their approval by the respective authorities.
    • Establish relationships with the relevant stakeholders in the Government and other promoting agencies and oversee project management to ensure the achievement of targets.
    • To work closely with the sectoral ministries, state industries departments, and other stakeholders and help them with their investment targeting, promotion, and facilitation.
    • Strategically build the investment promotion sector practice and expand the client base in domestic/international markets.
    • Be thorough with policies, acts, and regulations governing the projects handled by ESIPO.
    • Work closely with the MD-ESIPO and develop and monitor financial budgets of the investment promotion and facilitation vertical.
    • Handle resource allocation within the vertical and manage the utilization of a team of consultants.
    • Review proposals, financial models, joint ventures, project structuring, reports, etc., and make necessary recommendations to relevant departments.
    • Responsible for ensuring the use of world-class knowledge management methodologies and processes to create a centralized database for investor management.
    • Provide and disseminate up-to-date information on Incentives available to Investors and further consult on behalf of investors,
    • Provide support to existing and potential foreign investors
    • Proactively contribute to management and organization development activities including thought leadership, training, etc.
    • Mentor and guide team to ensure deliverables within given timelines
    • Conduct team reviews and submit weekly reports to MD-ESIPO and monthly reports to all relevant stakeholders
    • Work in collaboration with other teams
    • Ensure the implementation of ESIPO's manadate
    • Perform any other duty/function as assigned by the MD ESIPO

    Required Qualifications, Competences, and Experience
    Formal Education:

    • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent professional experience required in Economics, Management, Public Policy and Administration, Finance, Development Administration, or related field; graduate degree preferred

    Professional Experience:

    • Experience in investment pipeline development and evaluating market viability for climate investment opportunities; experience doing so through blended finance mechanisms preferred
    • Experience designing impact investing proposals and strategies to mobilize finance for climate change mitigation and adaptation, clean energy transition, and nature-based solutions preferred OS/he has at least seven (7) years of private sector investment experience; experience collaborating with international aid agencies such as FCDO, GIZ, USAID, IDH, preferred
    • At least five years of experience working on private sector development in Africa.

    Director, Business Development Support, Exports and Aftercare

    Responsibilities

    • Director, Business Development Support, Exports and Aftercare will work under the supervision of the Managing Director.

    Tasks
    The specific tasks for the Director, Business Development Support, Exports and Aftercare will be as follows:

    • Improvement in the customer relations management system for investor aftercare
    • Creation of an aftercare manual
    • Directs the engagements with existing investors in Edo State through different communication channels to gather information on complaints to resolve with relevant MDAs.
    • Develops a working relationship with different existing investors and organises site visits to companies.
    • Supervises the different methods of gathering information on investors' perceptions of the investment climate in Edo state.
    • Leads initiatives to ensure existing investors expand their businesses in Edo State.
    • Support existing investors in expanding current investments;
    • Supervises developing and maintaining the database of contacts within MSME clusters within the state to provide linkages to business development support services.
    • Provides direction for creating linkages of MSMEs to state and federal agencies for information on exportation policies and procedures.
    • Leads the exploration of opportunities to develop relationships with new partnerships to assist the growth of MSMEs in Edo state.
    • Leads drive to encourage MSMEs to explore market opportunities with established companies as a prelude to exporting their products.
    • Maintain liaison between investors and Ministries, Government Agencies, institutional lenders, and other authorities concerned with investments;
    • Liaises with key government departments to strengthen collaboration in the formalisation of MSMEs, skills development, and capacity building.
    • Facilitate access to market for exporters in the State
    • Train and mentor staff in aftercare service, with training schedule
    • Ensure the implementation of ESIPO's mandate
    • Perform any other duty/function as assigned by the MD ESIPO.

    Required Qualifications, Competences, and Experience
    Formal Education:

    • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent professional experience required in Economics, Marketing, Finance, Development Administration, or related field; graduate degree preferred

    Professional Experience:

    • Experience in business development, marketing, exports, international trade and business sustainability.

    • Serve as part of EoDB coordinating team to implement EODB metrics and plan with relevant MDAs to reduce processes for efficient delivery of services to the local businesses.

Relevant experience includes regulatory and legal reforms in government systems/ institutions, government/ business process reengineering, conducting surveys on regulatory reforms- local and national surveys on business regulation, accounts, taxation etc.
    • Support in strengthening and reduction of regulatory compliance in Acts and Rules with the adaptation of technology.
