Purpose

• To safely and effectively operate assigned refinery process equipment to ensure availability to produce refined sugar of the required quality and quantity at the lowest possible cost.

The Job

• To safely and effectively operate the process equipment according to the standard laid-down procedures.
• To ensure that the process equipment is kept in good working condition by reporting defects at an appropriate time.
• To minimize sugar losses and ensure maximum sugar recovery.
• At all times maintain a clean and tidy working environment Move sugar in Raw sugar warehouse to the Belt conveyor BS2 feed hoppers.
• Ensure compliance with QMS /FSMS requirements in the assigned work process.

Qualifications

• 5 O’ level credits including Mathematics & English in not more than 2 sittings.
• Technical certification would be an added advantage.

Experience:

• Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role. 

The Person Must:

• Have good verbal and written communication skills.
• Pay keen attention to details and be highly organized.
• Have excellent time management and prioritization skills.
• Have the ability to meet productivity and quality standards.

PURPOSE

• To safely and effectively supervise the refinery process operations on shift to ensure availability of plant for stable, consistent throughput to produce refined sugar of the required quality and quantity at the lowest possible cost.

THE JOB

• To ensure that the safety and quality of the work performed by the refinery shift staff under his supervision complies with all procedures & specifications as well as accepted sugar manufacturing standards.
• Ensures equipment including stand-by equipment is always available to the production staff to maximise & optimise costs & throughput while minimising unplanned stoppages.
• Ensures best operating procedures are followed and pro-actively monitors critical variables, which could affect quality or throughput.
• Reinforce a positive culture of mutual co-operation between the operating staff and their Engineering and Maintenance colleagues.
• Ensure compliance with QMS /FSMS requirements in the assigned work process.

THE PERSON MUST

• Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to supervise and motivate a team of maintenance personnel.
• Inquisitive mind set consistently seeking innovative ways to deliver without compromising quality.
• Effective time management skills.

QUALIFICATIONS

• OND in science related field.
• 5 O’ level credits including Mathematics & English in not more than 2 sittings.

EXPERIENCE

• Minimum of 2 years' experience in sugar manufacturing processes.
