    Commercial and Litigation Lawyer

    Job Summary

    • We are seeking an experienced and skilled Commercial and Litigation Lawyer to join our team.
    • The ideal candidate will have a strong background in commercial law, litigation, and dispute resolution, with excellent analytical, research, and communication skills.
    • The successful candidate will provide legal advice and support to our clients across various industries, draft and review commercial contracts, and represent clients in litigation and dispute resolution proceedings.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Legal Research and Analysis: Conduct comprehensive legal research and provide strategic analysis on relevant cases, statutes, and legal precedents.
    • Commercial Contract Drafting and Review: Draft, review, and negotiate a wide variety of commercial contracts, including sales and purchase agreements, service agreements, licensing agreements, and joint venture agreements.
    • Litigation and Dispute Resolution: Represent clients in litigation and dispute resolution proceedings, including contract breaches, intellectual property infringement, and competition law issues.
    • Client Advisory: Provide legal advice and support to clients on commercial law matters, including contract negotiation, dispute resolution, and regulatory compliance.
    • Regulatory Compliance: Advise clients on regulatory compliance issues, including consumer protection laws, competition laws, and data protection laws.
    • Legal Risk Management: Identify and mitigate legal risks for clients, including conducting legal audits and providing risk management advice.

    Job Qualifications
    Essential Qualifications:

    • Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree
    • Professional legal qualification: Bar qualification or equivalent.
    • Post-qualification experience: 2-4 years of experience in a commercial law environment (in-house or private practice).
    • Strong understanding of commercial law principles: Including contract, corporate, and intellectual property laws.
    • Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills: Both written and verbal.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills: Ability to analyze complex legal issues and develop effective solutions.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team: Proactive, results-oriented, and able to meet deadlines.

    Desirable Qualifications:

    • Experience with legal project management software: Familiarity with legal project management tools and software.
    • Industry knowledge: Familiarity with key regulatory frameworks in Nigeria, particularly in corporate, tax, labor, and compliance-related matters.
    • Client management skills: Experience managing client relationships and handling confidential information responsibly.

    Lead Project Manager

    Job Description

    • Assist the business partners in the DDIT Business Partnering and Value Management team in developing business cases for projects, ensuring that project plans effectively respond to the foundation’s needs and align with the foundation’s strategy.
    • Employ key project management techniques to drive the end-to-end execution and delivery of projects within the DDIT function. Ensure the project is executed according to the schedule, budget and resource allocation defined in the project plan.
    • Identify and raise potential risks as they arise throughout project delivery, collaborating with other Project Leads and DDIT Risk and Governance Lead to ensure the foundation’s risk and compliance standards are consistently met.
    • Ensure that project work is appropriately documented in accordance with pre-existing business-as-usual reporting standards. Raise any concerns with the DDIT Risk and Governance lead and support resolution.
    • Stakeholder Communication: Maintain regular communication with the relevant project stakeholders within and outside the foundation, ensuring their expectations are managed and met.
    • Work alongside sub-functions within the DDIT to co-create project delivery, utilizing best practice project management techniques to guide technical delivery efforts.
    • Grow strong working relationships within the wider business and positively influence stakeholders to foster project buy-in and support.
    • Manage the project team's day-to-day prioritization, encouraging collaborative working, retaining oversight of assigned tasks, and resolving conflicts or blockers when they arise.

    Job Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably with further project management or other professional qualifications.
    • 7+ years in Technology Project Management, Project Execution, or a similar role.
    • Proficiency in core project management, including agile and waterfall methods, and awareness of best practices in this space.
    • Proficiency in project management tools, Microsoft Office Suite, and collaboration platforms (e.g., JIRA, MS Project)
    • Project Management Expertise: Proven experience in end-to-end technology project delivery (agile/waterfall), risk management, and aligning projects with strategic goals.
    • Stakeholder Engagement: Skilled at managing cross-functional relationships, stakeholder expectations, and reporting progress effectively.
    • Leadership: Demonstrated team leadership, conflict resolution, and mentoring of junior PMO staff.
    • Skilled communicator and influencer, able to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels, from executive to technical staff and other functions within the foundation.
    • Possesses professional maturity, sensitivity to diverse cultures, and impeccable integrity that exemplify the foundation’s values.

    Vendor Manager (Hardware)

    Job Description

    • Oversee the work of vendors contracted to the foundation during their contracted period, evaluating their delivery in line with contractual obligations and predetermined performance metrics.
    • Collaborate with the Digital and Data Information Technology (DDIT) Risk and Governance team to ensure vendors comply with foundation policies and frameworks and contribute to risk mitigation efforts as required.
    • Manage relationships with vendors during their contracted period and collaborate with other DDIT stakeholders, such as the Digital and Technology, Cybersecurity, and Business Partnering teams, to resolve operational issues promptly.
    • Ensure effective collaboration between vendor managers, project managers, technical teams, and business partners to effectively drive the vendor management process.
    • Regularly update the vendor management office lead on the status of vendor management initiatives.
    • Work with the foundation’s Procurement, Contracting and Legal functions to ensure adherence to enterprise-wide vendor frameworks and policies.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree qualification.
    • 3+ years of experience in an IT or vendor management-related role. Further professional qualifications are preferable.
    • Comfortable working within culturally diverse teams, preferably within an NGO or large international organization. Leadership experience is preferable.
    • Good awareness of the contemporary technology vendor landscape.
    • Good understanding of contemporary digital landscapes and some experience working with high-level stakeholders within this field.
    • Highly organized and able to prioritize and work to deadlines, adapting to shifting priorities.
    • Good communicator and influencer, able to engage effectively with stakeholders at senior management through technical staff and other functions within the foundation.
    • Possesses professional maturity, sensitivity to different cultures, and impeccable integrity that exemplify the foundation’s values.
    • Demonstrates a commitment to the foundation’s values and vision.
