    Business Development Manager

    Responsibilities

    • Refine ideal client profile: demographics, psychographics & trigger events.
    • Identify & pursue TOP 20 Target List.
    • Refine buyer persona(s) within ideal client profile.
    • Identify & pursue key stakeholders at TOP 20 Target List.
    • Cold outreach: phone, email & LinkedIn.
    • Attend targeted networking events.
    • Conduct introductory calls with new prospects.
    • Conduct qualification/ discovery calls with prospects.
    • Identify current state, desired future state, pains & desired gains of prospects.
    • Partner with Account Manager & Carrier Sales to build ideal solution & pricing for the prospect.
    • Present the proposal in-person (or video conference) to key stakeholders.
    • Overcome objections and secure the win.
    • Partner with Leadership, Account Manager & Carrier Sales to identify new opportunities to upsell, cross-sell product & service offerings.
    • Maintain regular contact with the customer including escalations.
    • Send monthly “Scorecard” report & recap to key stakeholders.
    • Conduct Quarterly business reviews with key stakeholders.

    Qualification / Experience

    • Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree qualification
    • Minimum of 5 years of industry related experience (Freight Forwarding / General Brokerage).
    • Minimum of 3 years in outside sales with a prior track record of meeting / exceeding performance goals & expectations.
    • Willing to travel to regional / national client locations 50% (depending on market).
    • Experience using CRM, LinkedIn, and Microsoft Office.
    • Availability to respond to client escalations after traditional work hours.

    Logistics Account Manager

    Job Description

    • This individual will be responsible for the overall “day-to-day” freight management of shipments and or assigned shipping accounts.
    • It is essential for this position to conduct the necessary activities that will:
      • Produce results that will garner customer trust,
      • Be complementary to existing company competencies,
      • Produce above average gross net revenue / profit. This position has broad responsibilities including freight sales, customer spot pricing, carrier price negotiation, and operational duties.

    Responsibilities

    • Development of customer base.
    • Ensure accurate book keeping of transactions and general accounts
    • Weekly account reporting to Managing Director
    • Ensuring financial discipline company wide
    • Freight solicitation and sales, including cold calling from company or self-generated call list.
    • Spot pricing exercises.
    • Sustained customer relationships and customer growth.
    • Development of carrier base.
    • Carrier price negotiations.
    • Manage both broker and customer service aspects of assigned shipments and /or accounts.
    • Effectively communicate with customers and carriers.
    • Ensure proper and sufficient communication is provided as it relates to: Customer payment issues, operational issues, potential issues, or any foreseen issues, pricing concerns, customer needs (current and potential), customer leads, any inabilities company may face, and other company operating unit inquiries.
    • Ensure operating procedures and protocol are adhered to.
    • Be aggressively responsive to other company operating units and their needs.
    • Deliver cost effective solutions that always keeps the long-term interest of the customer as the first priority.
    • Ability to travel to customer location(s) if / when needed.
    • Ensure performance to the company’s annual goals and objectives through individual goal success.
    • Play critical role in efforts to ensure service, focus, morale, teamwork, and a positive culture is built and maintained within the branch.
    • Other duties may be assigned.

    Requirements

    • 2 years of broker experience preferred.
    • Significant highway service knowledge, including demonstrable direct relationships within the shipping community.
    • Demonstrable business development and sales successes.
    • Demonstrable operations knowledge.
    • Strong organization and time management skills.
    • Must possess basic PC skills- Microsoft Excel, Word.
    • Self-starter capable of working independently and making decisions with limited supervision.
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
    • Ability to provide oral and written reports, business correspondence and effectively present information and respond to questions from customers, team members and managers.
    • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
    • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
