    Business Development and Marketing Manager

    • The Business Development and Marketing Manager will be responsible for driving growth and expanding our market presence in the electricity distribution sector through effective marketing initiatives and the development of key partnerships.
    • This will involve developing and implementing strategic marketing and business plans, identifying new business opportunities, and maintaining relationships with clients and partners in order to generate revenue and support overall business growth.

    Key Responsibilities Under this Role:

    • Develop and implement comprehensive business development and marketing strategies aligned with the company's objectives.
    • Identify market trends and opportunities to stay ahead of the competition.
    • Lead efforts to acquire new clients through effective marketing campaigns and strategic business development.
    • Build and nurture strong relationships with clients, ensuring high satisfaction and retention rates.
    • Identify and evaluate potential business partnerships to enhance the company's product or service offerings.
    • Negotiate and finalise partnership agreements for mutual benefit.
    • Plan and execute marketing campaigns across various channels to increase brand visibility and generate leads.
    • Utilise data and analytics to optimise marketing strategies.
    • Collaborate with the sales team to align marketing efforts with sales goals.
    • Assist in creating or enhancing materials used for sales processes.
    • Conduct market research to identify customer needs, industry trends, and competitive landscapes. Use research findings to inform product development and marketing strategies.
    • Oversee the development and effective execution of marketing campaigns to enhance the company’s brand visibility and promote its services in the power sector.
    • Prepare and present compelling business proposals, ensuring they align with the organisation's goals and meet client requirements.
    • Drive sales efforts and develop strategies to increase revenue, considering the unique aspects of the power industry.
    • Stay updated on industry regulations and standards.

    Required Experience and Education:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Science/Social Sciences or equivalent of same in practical experience.
    • 8+ years of cognate experience in electricity distribution or relevant sector.
    • Strong background in sales and marketing.
    • Skilled in marketing analytics.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
    • Demonstrated leadership and team management skills.
    • Results-driven and able to meet or exceed targets.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Fluency in English.

    Note that applicants who meet the following criteria will have an added advantage:

    • MSc or MBA from a reputable institution.
    • Successfully led revenue growth efforts in a related Industry.
    • Extensive experience in the Nigerian Power Sector.
    • Successful track record in B2B and B2C sales and negotiation.
    • Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software.
    • Fluency in Hausa.

    Senior Metering Manager

    • The Senior Metering Manager will oversee various aspects related to network and customer metering activities within the Company’s franchise area.
    • The successful candidate will ensure the accuracy and reliability of metering systems, compliance with regulations, and effective communication with internal and external stakeholders.
    • This role requires a combination of technical expertise, leadership skills, and a focus on optimizing metering processes to support efficient and reliable services.

    Key Responsibilities Under this Role:

    • Oversee the installation, maintenance, and calibration of utility meters.
    • Ensure metering systems meet accuracy and reliability standards.
    • Stay current with industry regulations and standards.
    • Implement and enforce processes to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
    • Explore and implement new metering technologies to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
    • Work with IT and engineering teams to integrate advanced metering systems.
    • Utilize metering data to analyze consumption patterns and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements.
    • Collaborate with data analysts to extract valuable insights for decision-making.
    • Effectively communicate with internal teams, regulatory bodies, and utility customers regarding metering operations and changes.
    • Address and resolve inquiries or concerns related to metering services.
    • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for metering operations.
    • Collaborate with other departments such as finance, operations, and IT to ensure the seamless integration of metering activities with overall business operations.
    • Develop metering procurement frameworks for the Company and manage procurement activities.
    • Review any new major contracts or internal business proposals relating to metering initiatives.
    • Collaborate with customer service teams to address metering-related inquiries and concerns from customers; and
    • Collaborate with security and anti-theft teams to implement measures to detect and prevent electricity theft or metering tampering.

    Required Experience and Education:

    • A bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or equivalent of same in practical experience.
    • 10+ years of cognate experience in metering operations and management within the electricity distribution sector.
    • Strong background in problem solving and time management
    • Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) qualification or equivalent.
    • Fluency in English

    Note that applicants who meet the following criteria will have an added advantage:

    • 10 years or more in a supervisory role - Extensive experience from a relevant sector.
    • Strong knowledge of metering technologies, regulations, and industry standards
    • Familiarity with smart metering systems and emerging technologies in the energy sector
    • PMP Certification.
    • Fluency in Hausa.

    Technical Competencies:

    • Strong data analysis skills to interpret metering data, identify consumption patterns, and extract meaningful insights for decision-making
    • In-depth technical knowledge of electricity distribution systems, power quality, and metering infrastructure.
    • Demonstrated leadership experience, including the ability to lead and motivate a team of metering technicians and specialists.
    • Project management skills to effectively contribute to cross-functional projects aimed at enhancing the overall performance of the electricity distribution network.
    • Experience in developing and managing budgets for metering activities, with a focus on cost-effectiveness and financial responsibility.
    • Strong problem-solving abilities to address technical challenges, resolve issues efficiently, and implement corrective actions
