    Associate, Risk Analytics

    The Role

    • Flutterwave is seeking a highly analytical and proactive Associate, Risk Analytics to join our dynamic Risk team.
    • As a fintech company operating in a rapidly evolving regulatory landscape, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations is paramount to our success. 
    • In this role, you will bridge the gap between data and compliance. You will be responsible for building and maintaining risk reporting frameworks, analyzing complex datasets, and developing fraud detection models.
    • The ideal candidate possesses a strong technical toolkit, a keen understanding of financial regulations, and the ability to translate data into actionable insights for cross-functional teams.

    Responsibilities

    include but are not limited to:

    • Develop, maintain, and optimize risk reporting frameworks to track Key Risk Indicators (KRIs). Prepare regular, high-visibility reports for management detailing trends, anomalies, and strategic recommendations.
    • Collect and analyze large datasets from multiple sources to conduct regular risk assessments and identify emerging fraud or compliance risk trends.
    • Design, develop, and monitor data-driven algorithms and machine learning models specifically focused on fraud risk detection and mitigation.
    • Assist the compliance team in meeting regulatory requirements by preparing internal and external compliance reports and ensuring policies align with industry standards.
    • Utilize advanced analytical tools to conduct in-depth data reviews, identify process bottlenecks, and recommend automated solutions to enhance reporting efficiency.
    • Partner directly with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Finance, Operations) to validate data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across all risk pipelines.
    • Maintain accurate, up-to-date documentation of all analytics processes and assist in developing training materials to promote a risk-aware culture internally.
    • Support internal and external audits by generating necessary data pulls, documentation, and contextual information as requested.
    • Collaborate with other departments, including legal, finance, and operations, to ensure a coordinated approach to risk and compliance management.
    • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to address inquiries and provide timely updates on risk and compliance matters.

    Required competency and skillset:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Business, Accounting or a related quantitative field.
    • Proven 2-4 years’ experience in risk analytics, compliance reporting, or data analysis within the financial services industry (Fintech experience is highly preferred).
    • Strong command of data analysis and visualization tools, especially SQL, Python, Microsoft Excel, and PowerBI (DAX).
    • Solid understanding of financial regulations, anti-fraud mechanisms, compliance requirements, and fintech industry best practices.
    • Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, with a demonstrated ability to draw meaningful insights from raw data.
    • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex, data-heavy concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
    • High attention to detail and the proven ability to manage multiple priorities effectively in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

    Senior Associate / Manager, Liquidity Management

    The Role

    • We're looking for a stellar candidate to join our team and help us further build out our integrated liquidity management systems along with risk management processes, and work alongside our business partners and internal teams.
    • We’re working on making our regional financial system programmable. 
    • The Liquidity Management team plays a critical role in enabling the realization of this opportunity and simultaneously ensuring we optimally manage the liquidity flows for regional payment processing - ensuring money is in the right place, at the right time and in the right currency.

    Responsibilities
    Include but are not limited to:

    • Monitor and understand trends and cash flows across the various Flutterwave products
    • Quantifying liquidity risk and conduct analyses to inform business decisions
    • Manage funds movements across various operating bank accounts
    • Creating and utilizing dashboards/visualizations to communicate liquidity metrics both for day-to-day
    • management and for periodic reviews/longer-term trends
    • Draft and review Treasury procedures and conduct trainings to the Operation Team
    • Prepare and present reports on financial performance, liquidity, and risk, providing insights and
    • recommendations to senior management
    • Perform payment related tasks such as handling customer inquiries, request for information.
    • Any other duties assigned.

    Requirements

    Required competency and skillset to be a waver:

    • Bachelor’s Degree with 5-9  years of experience in Treasury/Liquidity Operations/Financial Operations
    • Client engagement experience
    • Ability to work as part of a team and manage projects
    • Strong analytical, presentation, report writing skills and attention to details
