Role Description

• The Assistant Accountant role at Auldon Limited is a full-time, on-site position based in Lagos.
• The role involves supporting daily accounting operations, including posting transactions, maintaining ledgers, and assisting with accounts payable and receivable.
• The Assistant Accountant helps prepare financial reports, reconciles bank statements, and ensures accurate documentation of inventory and sales.
• This position also supports month-end and year-end closing activities, assists with budget tracking, and collaborates with the finance team to ensure compliance with internal policies and relevant regulations. T
• he role requires regular coordination with store operations and customer service teams to ensure that financial records reflect business activities accurately and on time.

Qualifications

• Strong foundational accounting skills, including bookkeeping, ledger management, and basic financial reporting.
• Proficiency in accounting software and tools (e.g., Excel, ERP or POS systems) and comfort working with numerical data.
• Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks within set deadlines.
• Good communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with finance, operations, and customer service teams.
• Understanding of basic tax, compliance, and internal control principles relevant to retail or FMCG environments.
• Relevant academic background in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certificates or ongoing studies in accounting are an advantage.
• Previous experience in an accounting or finance support role, preferably in retail or a similar fast-paced setting, is beneficial.
