    Accountant - Hotel

    Main Tasks or Activities of the Job

    • Financial Reporting: This is a big one. Hotel accountants prepare accurate and timelyfinancial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flowstatements. These reports give stakeholders a clear picture of the hotel's financialperformance. It's like giving the hotel a financial check-up. They also ensurecompliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
    • Budgeting and Forecasting: Creating budgets and financial forecasts is essential forplanning and decision-making. Hotel accountants analyze past performance, markettrends, and future expectations to develop realistic financial targets. This involvesworking closely with department heads to gather input and align financial goals with operational strategies.Regular monitoring of budget performance and variance analysis helps identify areas for improvement and cost control.
    • General Ledger Management: Maintaining the general ledger, the central record of all financial transactions, is another critical task. This includes recording journal entries, reconciling accounts, and ensuring the accuracy of financial data. A well-maintained general ledger is the foundation for reliable financial reporting. Accurate data entry and reconciliation processes are essential to prevent errors and ensure the integrity of financial information. This involves meticulous attention to detail and adherence to established accounting procedures.
    • Tax Compliance: Hotels have to deal with a variety of taxes, including sales tax,occupancy tax, and income tax. Hotel accountants are responsible for preparing andfiling tax returns accurately and on time. Staying up-to-date with changing tax laws and regulations is crucial to avoid penalties and ensure compliance.They must also maintain detailed records to support tax filings and respond to inquiries from taxauthorities. Effective tax planning can also help minimize the hotel's tax liability.
    • Internal Controls: Implementing and monitoring internal controls to safeguardassets and prevent fraud is a vital part of the job. This includes establishing policiesand procedures for financial transactions, conducting regular audits, and ensuringcompliance with internal control standards. Strong internal controls help protect thehotel's financial resources and maintain the integrity of financial reporting.
    • Auditing: Preparing for and coordinating internal and external audits. They ensurethat all financial records are in order and available for review. This helps ensure theaccuracy and reliability of financial information.
    • Payroll Processing: Overseeing the payroll process, ensuring accurate and timelypayment of wages and salaries. This involves calculating wages, deductions, andtaxes, as well as preparing payroll reports. Accuracy and compliance with labor lawsare critical in payroll processing. They also handle employee inquiries related topayroll and benefits.
    • Cash Management: Managing the hotel's cash flow, including monitoring bankaccounts, reconciling cash balances, and preparing cash forecasts. Efficient cashmanagement is essential for meeting the hotel's financial obligations andmaximizing returns. They also work to optimize cash flow by managing accountsreceivable and accounts payable effectively.

    Key Skills and Abilities

    • Interested candidates should possess an HND qualification with 2 - 3 years experience.
    • Computer literacy
    • Working knowledge of a good accounting software
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft word
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft excel
    • Written communication skills
    • Presentation skills.

    Food and Beverage Supervisor - Hotel

    Key Responsibilities

    • Staff Management: Hire, train, coach, schedule, and motivate F&B staff;resolve conflicts and manage performance.
    • Customer Relations: Handle guest feedback and complaints professionally, ensuring satisfaction.
    • Inventory & Operations: Monitor stock, order supplies, manage inventory levels, and ensure proper use of equipment.
    • Quality & Compliance: Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and adherence to health, safety, and company policies.
    • Financials & Reporting: Control costs, minimize waste, analyze sales, and assist with menu planning/promotions.
    • Service Leadership: Supervise daily operations, lead pre-shift meetings, set service standards, and ensure prompt, high-quality guest experiences.

    Requirements

    • Interested candidates should possess a relevant qualification with 2 - 3 years work experience. 

    Essential Skills:

    • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
    • Problem-solving and conflict resolution.
    • Knowledge of food safety, inventory management, and service procedures.
    • Must have work in an hotel as kitchen or restaurant supervisor.
    • Ability to work irregular hours and stay calm under pressure
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software.
