    Accountant

    Job Description

    • The accountant plays a critical role in overseeing the day-to-day accounting operations of the company.
    • This position is responsible for ensuring financial accuracy, regulatory compliance, and timely reporting.
    • The role includes supervising junior accounting staff, managing tax-related matters (both direct and indirect), and maintaining quality control over tax accounts and financial statements.

    Key Responsibilities & Duties

    • Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff, ensuring high performance and professional development.
    • Oversee the preparation and submission of monthly, quarterly, and annual direct and indirect tax returns.
    • Prepare tax reports and forecasts for management, including annual and quarterly projections.
    • Ensure timely and accurate filing of all tax returns in compliance with local and international regulations.
    • Prepare and analyze corporate tax liabilities and ensure proper documentation and reconciliation.
    • Maintain and review monthly balance sheet reconciliations and notes.
    • Identify and escalate critical financial or tax-related issues to the Finance Director.
    • Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies to address queries and ensure compliance.
    • Present financial and tax reports to senior management to support strategic decision-making.
    • Support general accounting tasks including journal entries, reconciliations, and month-end closing activities.
    • Communicate effectively across departments and present financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
    • Monitor and manage financial risks, ensuring internal controls are in place and effective.
    • Assist in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures.
    • Contribute to process improvements and automation initiatives within the finance function.

    Qualifications & Experience

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
    • Professional qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, CPA (Australia/US), ICAN, MIA, MACPA, or equivalent.
    • Minimum of 3 - 4 years of relevant experience in accounting, tax, or audit.
    • Strong knowledge of local and international taxation, including VAT/GST and corporate tax.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel; experience with accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) is a plus.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • High level of integrity, attention to detail, and commitment to accuracy.
    • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple priorities, and meet tight deadlines.
    • Demonstrated leadership and team management skills.
    • Proactive, self-motivated, and eager to learn and grow professionally.

    Salary
    N400,000 - N500,000 monthly.

    Security Coordinator

    Job Summary

    • Liaise with various departments within the company to address their specific security needs.
    • Collaborate with local law enforcement agencies to address security concerns and investigate security breaches.
    • Perform security risk assessments to identify potential threats to physical assets, such as buildings and equipment, as well as intangible assets like confidential information and trade secrets.
    • Verify the proper functioning of security equipment and adjust calibration as necessary.
    • Collaborate with the Chief Security Officer (CSO) to declare emergencies and ensure the safety and security management addresses emergency response needs.
    • Analyze incident reports and security updates in the security department.
    • Conduct internal investigations and prevent unauthorized entry and incidents.
    • Organize security training programs to ensure that employees grasp emergency procedures and other safety protocols.
    • Implement safety and security practices and procedures for the security department.
    • Supervise an inventory of supplies including locks, alarms, and security cameras.
    • Provide technical support and guidance on all aspects of staff safety and security.
    • Identify unsafe actions, hazardous conditions, and near misses, and take appropriate action or escalate them following established procedures.
    • Develop, coordinate, and report on security systems to management.
    • Collaborate with local law enforcement agencies to address security concerns and investigate security breaches.
    • Scrutinize security logs and reports to pinpoint potential security risks or breaches of security regulations.
    • Implement the up-grade of technology in the organization’s security management systems
    • Organize security training programs to ensure that employees grasp emergency procedures and other safety protocols.
    • Execute basic security tasks, such as conducting basic investigations and managing level 3 incident management.
    • Proficient in generating fire incident reports and collecting security data.
    • Seek opportunities for improvements in safety and security management.

    Requirements
    Education:

    • Minimum of an OND Certificate in either criminal justice, criminology, law, business, management and accounting.

    Experience:

    • Minimum 10 years’ experience in a similar role (Security supervision and coordination)
    • Experience in security control room operations, especially basic knowledge of CCTV infrastructure
    • Personnel with the military, law enforcement backgrounds are highly preferable
    • Experience in conducting essential assessments related to the safety and security of personnel and assets
    • Must be resident within the same city or willing to relocate.

    Other Job Specifications:

    • Should be open to travel anytime
    • Ease of change work practices and hours in emergency situations.

    Salary
    N250,000 - N350,000 per month.
