    Accountant

    Description

    • We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accountant to join our team at Alaba Shonibare to manage the financial operations of our estate/business.
    • The ideal candidate will be responsible for demonstrating the financial health of the business through accurate financial reporting, managing requisitions, Tax Filings, salary disbursements, allowances, and other staff-related payments, payroll breakdowns, and overseeing service charge administration. 
    • Ensuring transparency, efficiency, and compliance with financial and regulatory standards, and providing management with timely insights to support business decisions.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Prepare and present weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to management.
    • Demonstrate the health of the business through cash flow statements, profit & loss accounts, and balance sheets.
    • Monitor budgets and track variances.
    • Process requisitions and ensure expenses are aligned with budget allocations.
    • Maintain proper documentation and approvals for all expenditures.
    • Prepare and manage monthly payroll breakdowns, including deduction applications, benefits, and statutory remittances (PAYE, pension, etc.).
    • Ensure timely and accurate salary disbursement.
    • Track, reconcile, and manage all service charge collections and disbursements.
    • Prepare transparent service charge reports for stakeholders.
    • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all financial transactions.
    • Provide financial insights and recommendations to support decision-making.
    • Liaise with auditors, tax authorities, and other external stakeholders as required.
    • Prepare and file tax returns (VAT, Withholding Tax, and other statutory remittances) in compliance with regulatory requirements.
    • Develop financial reports and dashboards to provide insights into business performance.

    Qualifications & Skills

    • B.Sc. Degree / HND qualification in Accounting, Finance (ICAN / ACCA certification is an added advantage).
    • 3 – 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in real estate, estate management, or service charge–related roles.
    • Strong knowledge of requisition processes and service charge management.
    • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar) and MS Excel.
    • Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills.
    • High level of integrity and attention to detail.

    Driver

    Key Responsibilities

    • Safely drive the MD to and from office, meetings, events, and other official/personal engagements as required.
    • Ensure punctuality and timely pick-up/drop-off schedules.
    • Maintain strict confidentiality and discretion at all times.
    • Keep assigned vehicle clean, in good working condition, and properly fueled.
    • Monitor vehicle servicing, repairs, and report any mechanical issues promptly.
    • Comply with traffic regulations and demonstrate courteous driving.
    • Be flexible with work hours, including evenings, weekends, or public holidays as may be required.
    • Perform other duties assigned by the MD.

    Qualifications & Requirements

    • Minimum of SSCE (Senior Secondary Certificate) or equivalent.
    • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a corporate driver (experience driving executives is an advantage).
    • Good knowledge of road safety regulations and traffic laws.
    • Familiarity with routes within and outside the city.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and demonstrate high integrity.
    • Polite, professional, and well-groomed appearance.
    • Basic mechanical knowledge of vehicles is an added advantage.

    Benefits

    • Monthly salary - N150,000.
