Account Officers at Churchgate Group

Job Summary: 

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Account Officer to manage a variety of financial and accounting functions within our organization. The ideal candidate will be responsible for processing payments, reconciling inter-company accounts, analyzing bank charges, and maintaining accurate records of receivables and payables. 

This role also involves the preparation and posting of statutory payments, rent amortizations, and financial reports. The Account Officer will play a key role in ensuring compliance with financial regulations and supporting the organization’s day-to-day financial operations with accuracy and efficiency. 

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and process bank payments for operational and administrative expenses.
• Record and reconcile receipts related to maintenance costs and electricity bills.
• Conduct inter-company account reconciliations across entities within the group.
• Analyze and post monthly bank charges, including COT, interest, and perform bank reconciliations.
• Review accounts receivable and payable, including those related to staff, tenants, and external parties.
• Verify invoices and review ledgers for communication-related income to ensure accurate billing and collection.
• Prepare and post entries for rent amortization and prepaid expenses.
• Handle preparation and timely remittance of statutory payments, such as VAT, PAYE, Pension, WHT, CIT, and EDT.
• Conduct age-wise analysis of staff debtor accounts.
• Record and track expense retirements accurately.
• Prepare and submit weekly Management Information System (MIS) reports on payments.
• Book monthly amortizations in line with accounting standards.
• Update and monitor the organization’s daily bank position.

Educational Qualification: 

• B.Sc or HND in Accounting or other related discipline. 

Experience: 

• One to two years’ experience, preferably in Real Estate.
• Good working knowledge of Excel.
• Between 22- 30 years of age. 

Desirables Skills & Qualities:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel: Strong spreadsheet skills for analysis, reporting, and reconciliation tasks. 
• Familiarity with statutory requirements including VAT, PAYE, Pension, WHT, CIT, and EDT.
• Works well with cross-functional teams, particularly for inter-company reconciliations and MIS reporting.
