Job Description

• We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled WordPress Developer to join our team on a full-time basis.
• The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of WordPress development, including theme customization, plugin integration, and website optimization.
• You will build, maintain, and enhance WordPress websites, ensuring they meet our requirements and industry standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop and customize WordPress themes and plugins to meet project requirements.
• Build and maintain responsive and user-friendly websites using WordPress.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to WordPress sites, including;
• Managing backups and monitoring server performance.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to cPanel hosting, such as SSL configuration, domain redirection, and DNS settings.
• Collaborate with hosting providers to address performance and server-related issues.
• Perform regular website backups through cPanel and ensure timely restoration in case of data loss.
• Ensure all pages are indexed by Google and respond proactively to resolve instances where pages are no longer indexed.
• Proactively and diligently manage third-party integrations such as plugins and APIs.
• Design, implement, and maintain XML and HTML sitemaps to ensure optimal site structure, improve search engine crawlability, and support SEO strategies, including automated sitemap generation and dynamic updates for new content.
• Carry out technology administrator tasks such as setting up author profile accounts on WordPress.
• Collaborate with colleagues and external technology consultants to implement website features and functionalities in a timely manner.
• Optimize websites for performance, speed, and Search Engine Optimization (SEO).
• Ensure websites are secure, updated, and functional across various browser and device types.
• Participate in testing and quality assurance processes for website and webpage launches.
• Stay updated with the latest web development trends, and WordPress tools and best practices.

Requirements (Essential)

• 2 – 3 years of proven experience as a WordPress Designer/Developer.
• Proficiency in WordPress development, including themes, plugins, and custom post types.
• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, MySQL, PHP, WordPress CMS, and JQuery.
• Implement on-page and technical SEO best practices, such as structured data, sitemap updates, and meta tag optimization.
• Excellent UX/UI design skills. Good aesthetic sense and the ability to design websites that attract and engage users.
• Understanding of responsive design principles and cross-browser compatibility.
• Familiarity with API integrations and custom post types.
• Experience with WordPress page builders, such as Elementor, Beaver Builder, or WPBakery.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.

Desirable:

• Familiarity with front-end frameworks such as Bootstrap or Foundation.
• An eye for design and the ability to create aesthetically pleasing and user-friendly interfaces.
• Strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
• Knowledge of marketing strategies such as email marketing and social media campaigns is a plus.
• Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite or other design tools.
• Knowledge of e-commerce platforms (WooCommerce).

Salary
N120,000 – N150,000 per month. Plus a discretionary annual bonus.
