Web Developer at Candlelight Foundation for Children with Special Needs

We are looking for a skilled Web Developer to join our dynamic team. This role will help us create and maintain a user-friendly, accessible, and responsive website that aligns with our mission and engages our supporters. As a Web Developer, you will play a key role in developing, maintaining, and optimizing the Candlelight Foundation’s website and work on a several projects. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about both technology and making a positive impact on the lives of children with special needs. You will work closely with our digital development team to enhance our online presence and ensure our website serves the needs of our diverse audience, including families, donors, and volunteers.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain, and update the Candlelight Foundation website to ensure it is fully functional, user-friendly, and accessible.
• Collaborate with internal teams to design and implement web features that improve user experience and engagement.
• Optimize the website for speed and performance
• Ensure the website is fully compliant with accessibility standards, providing a seamless experience for users with disabilities.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly.
• Stay up to date with the latest web technologies and best practices to continuously improve our website.
• Implement and integrate donation and fundraising tools into the website to support our mission.
• Ensure website security by implementing best practices and performing regular updates.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Web Developer, with a strong portfolio of web development projects.
• Proficiency in web development languages and technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP.
• Experience with web development frameworks and CMS platforms (e.g., WordPress, Drupal, etc.).
• Familiarity with web design principles, UX/UI best practices, and responsive web design.
• Understanding of accessibility standards and best practices for users with special needs.
• Experience with integrating third-party tools, payment gateways, and analytics platforms.
• Attention to detail and ability to solve technical problems creatively.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• A passion for our mission and a strong desire to make a difference.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with website security and data privacy practices.
• Familiarity with Google Analytics and other performance tracking tools.
• Experience with backend technologies such as MySQL or Node.js.
• Previous experience working with non-profit organizations or in the health and wellness sector.
