Job Summary
The Web Designer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining the organization\'s websites and landing pages to ensure an engaging, user-friendly, and high-performing digital experience. The role involves creating responsive website designs, improving user experience (UX), optimizing website performance, and collaborating with internal teams to support marketing, branding, and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
Website Design & Development
- Design and develop visually appealing, responsive, and user-friendly websites and landing pages.
- Create wireframes, mockups, prototypes, and website layouts aligned with brand guidelines.
- Develop and maintain websites using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, WordPress, or other content management systems (CMS).
- Ensure websites are compatible across various browsers, devices, and operating systems.
- Implement website enhancements and new features as required.
User Experience (UX) & User Interface (UI)
- Design intuitive user interfaces that enhance customer engagement and usability.
- Conduct usability testing and recommend improvements based on user behavior and analytics.
- Optimize website navigation, accessibility, and user journeys.
- Ensure compliance with web accessibility standards and best practices.
Website Maintenance & Performance
- Monitor website functionality and resolve technical issues promptly.
- Perform regular website updates, backups, and maintenance.
- Optimize website speed, performance, and security.
- Ensure all website content is accurate, current, and aligned with organizational objectives.
SEO & Analytics
- Apply on-page SEO best practices to improve website visibility and search engine rankings.
- Monitor website traffic using tools such as Google Analytics and Google Search Console.
- Generate website performance reports and recommend improvement strategies.
- Implement conversion optimization techniques to improve lead generation and user engagement.
Content Management & Collaboration
- Upload, edit, and manage website content, including text, images, videos, and downloadable resources, ensuring consistency with the organization\'s branding and communication standards.
- Collaborate with graphic designers, content creators, developers, and marketing teams to publish campaigns, support product launches, promotional activities, and other digital marketing initiatives.
- Liaise with external vendors and hosting providers as required to ensure the effective delivery and maintenance of web solutions.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor\'s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Web Design, Digital Media, Graphic Design, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3–5 years\' experience in web design and website management.
- Hands-on experience with WordPress or other Content Management Systems (CMS).
- Experience in responsive web design and website optimization.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Proficiency in HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, WordPress, and responsive web design.
- Strong knowledge of UI/UX principles and web design tools such as Figma, Adobe XD, or Adobe Creative Suite.
- Knowledge of SEO, Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and website performance optimization.
- Basic knowledge of PHP, APIs, and web hosting is an advantage.
- Strong creativity, attention to detail, problem-solving, communication, and project management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively both independently and within a team.
