Verification Officer at Leap Microfinance

Description

• We are seeking a Verification Officer with strong IT and Social Media Skills to support our banking operations.
• The successful candidate will be responsible for verifyingof customers information, documents, addresses, and other relevant details to ensure accuracy, complaince, and proper risk maanagement.
• The ideal candidate should have good knowledge of banking operations, IT tools, and social media platforms, with strong attention to detail and communication skills.
• Experience in a Microfinance Bank or other financial institution is an added advantage.
• Ability to drive and possession of a valid driver's licence will also be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Conduct customer, address, employment, and document verification
• Carry out field verification and prepare accurate verification reports.
• Validate information provided by customers and loan applicants.
• Identify inconsistencies, discrepancies, and potential red flags.
• Maintain proper records and documentation of all verification activities.
• Work closely with the Credit,Operations, Risk, Recovery and Compliance teams.
• Ensure all verification activities comply with the organization's policies and regulatory requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

• HND / B.Sc Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field.
• 2- 4 years' experience in verification, credit, banking operations, or a related role.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Basic computer and reporting skills.
• Proficiency in basic IT tools and social media platforms.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Previous experience in a Mircofinance Bank or financial institution is an added advantage.
• Ability to drive and possession of a valid driver's licence is an added advantage.
