    Vehicle Maintenance and Operations Officer

    Job Description

    • Develop and implement a comprehensive vehicle maintenance program to ensure the ongoing reliability and safety of the fleet.
    • Schedule and coordinate regular maintenance, inspections, and repairs for all vehicles.
    • Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, including servicing, repairs, and parts replacements.
    • Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify issues, safety concerns, and wear and tear.
    • Ensure compliance with all safety and environmental regulations.
    • Supervise and lead a team of mechanics and technicians, delegating tasks and responsibilities as needed.
    • Provide guidance, training, and performance evaluations to the maintenance team.
    • Maintain an organized inventory of spare parts and materials required for vehicle repairs.
    • Manage parts procurement and inventory control efficiently.
    • Collaborate with the operations team to ensure vehicles are deployed optimally to meet transportation demand.
    • Address vehicle breakdowns and schedule adjustments promptly to minimize service disruptions.
    • Ensure vehicles comply with local, state, and federal safety and environmental regulations.
    • Develop and enforce safety protocols for the maintenance team.
    • Assist in preparing and managing the maintenance budget.
    • Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining vehicle quality and safety standards.
    • Generate regular reports on maintenance activities, costs, and vehicle performance.
    • Provide updates to senior management regarding the fleet's operational status.

    Qualifications

    • 5 years of experience in the related field
    • Proven experience in vehicle maintenance and repair, preferably in the transportation industry.
    • Strong knowledge of vehicle systems, diagnostics, and maintenance best practices
    • Leadership and team management skills.
    • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Knowledge of relevant safety and environmental regulations.
    • Proficiency in using maintenance management software is a plus.
