We are seeking meticulous and detail-oriented Typesetters to join our publishing team. The successful candidates will be responsible for arranging and formatting text and images, ensuring accuracy and consistency in book layouts, and producing high-quality publications that meet the company’s standards
Job Description
Creatively format texts by applying appropriate font styles, sizes, and spacing, according to specifications to enhance readability and comprehension for readers.
Artistically create layout designs for various publications, and strategically arranging text within columns, pages, and sections to ensure consistency in fonts and designs while adhering to the publisher's branding guidelines.
Diligently perform thorough proofreading to identify and correct typographical errors, grammatical mistakes, and formatting issues to ensure accuracy.
Seamlessly incorporate visuals, graphics, and illustrations into the material to enrich the design and enhance the reader’s engagement.
Carefully maintain accurate word breaks and spacing to achieve well-structured and neatly aligned columns.
Effectively use typesetting software and desktop publishing tools, such as MS Word & CorelDraw to efficiently execute layout and formatting tasks.
Actively collaborate with editors, graphic artists, and other publishing team members to ensure a smooth transition of design concepts into finished publications.
Qualification & Required Skills
Applicants must be computer literate, proficient in the use of typesetting software and desktop publishing tools, and possess WAEC/NECO certificate.
Proficiency in the use of MS Word and CorelDraw is mandatory
Possession of National Diploma (ND) in Computer Science, Office Management and Technology or any other related discipline with experience in desktop publishing will be an added advantage.
Minimum of two (2) years cognate experience in typesetting with a publishing company or in a related company
Applicants must be detail-oriented, knowledgeable about fonts, and possess an understanding of graphic design.
Not more than 35 years of age
Ability to communicate in English Language
Good interpersonal skills
Good mannerism with high social skills, integrity and strength of character
