The Transport Manager is responsible for planning and supervising shipments, schedule routes, tracks orders, coordinate with warehouse workers and monitor transportation costs.
Responsibilities
Plan and supervise the shipments from production or loading point to the end-user/delivery point.
Ensure shipping documents are properly filed.
Keep organized records of vehicles, schedules and completed orders.
Monitor drivers’ route.
Ensure full documentation of each truck before embarking on any trip.
Frequently educate and update the drivers on road regulations, violations and penalties.
Monitor and report transportation costs.
Reduce the risk of vehicle overloading.
Arranging repairs and routine maintenance of transportation vehicles.
Ensure compliance with company policies and shipping legislation.
Requirements
B.Sc in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or business administration.
Proven 7 years' experience as a Transportation Manager, shipping Manager or Similar role.
Strong knowledge of the transportation industry and logistics.
Leadership skills.
Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives.
