    Training and Development Manager

    Minimum Educational Requirement: 

    • Bachelor’s Degree (1st Degree)

    Required competencies and skills

    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
    • Strong time and priority management skills
    • Advanced problem-solving and decision-making abilities
    • Leadership and team-building capabilities

    Key Responsibilities 

    L&D Strategy Formulation

    • Lead the design and development of Learning & Development strategies in collaboration with the team
    • Ensure 100% execution of L&D strategic objectives annually

    Training Needs Analysis

    • Conduct training needs assessments in collaboration with department heads and line supervisors
    • Develop detailed reports from needs analysis and submit findings to the GM, HR&A

    Training Plan Development and Implementation

    • Review internal, external, and e-learning plans prepared by L&D Officers
    • Ensure full implementation and deployment of approved training plans

    Payments and Budgeting

    • Monitor training expenses in coordination with the Manager, R&B
    • Ensure training expenditures stay within approved budgetary limits

    Return on Investment (ROI)

    • Develop ROI/learning impact reports from internal and external learning programs
    • Prepare e-learning ROI assessments and insights for management
    • Analyze pre- and post-training results and ensure implementation of action points
    • E-Learning / LMS / Digital Learning
    • Review e-learning strategy and content developed by L&D Officers
    • Design and deploy digital learning materials (quizzes, books, courses, videos)
    • Review usage analytics from LMS and E-library and prepare weekly/monthly reports
    • Ensure timely communication and deployment of e-learning initiatives

    Talent Management

    • Facilitate organizational succession planning and talent development discussions with GM, HR&A
    • Deploy a minimum of two leadership development programs annually
    • Lead the assessment center initiative and implement resulting development plans
    • Manage and execute annual talent review sessions and Fidson Scholarship program

    Performance Management

    • Oversee the administration of the E-Appraisal platform
    • Analyze departmental performance appraisals and derive key insights for management
    • Ensure timely communication of appraisal feedback to HODs and through the L&D Officer to staff
    • Align L&D initiatives with performance improvement plans (PIP)
    • Conduct performance conversations based on appraisal outcomes and manager discussions
    • Learning Engagement Initiatives and Projects
    • Develop strategic learning plans and manage key employee engagement projects such as Chess Championship, World Book Day, HR Week, etc.

    Reporting

    • Review and approve reports and plans submitted by direct reports
    • Prepare half-yearly and annual L&D reports
    • Provide additional reports as requested by GM, HR&A
    • Conduct spot checks and audits of departmental and corporate training initiatives
