    Trailer Drivers (Haulage)

    Job Summary

    • A Haulage Driver is responsible for the safe, timely, and efficient transportation of goods (such as FMCG products, industrial materials, and equipment) across various locations in Nigeria.
    • The role requires compliance with Nigerian road safety regulations, client delivery schedules, and company operational policies.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Safely operate heavy-duty trucks/trailers to transport goods within and outside designated routes.
    • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle (brakes, tires, lights, fuel, oil, water, etc.) to ensure road worthiness.
    • Adhere strictly to Nigerian traffic laws, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) regulations, and company driving policies.
    • Ensure timely loading, securing, and unloading of cargo, avoiding damages or losses.
    • Maintain accurate delivery logs, waybills, and trip reports.
    • Report mechanical faults, accidents, or route challenges to the fleet supervisor immediately.
    • Carry out basic maintenance checks and keep the truck clean and presentable.
    • Collaborate with logistics teams, warehouse staff, and security personnel to ensure efficient deliveries.
    • Maintain professional conduct with clients, customers, and the general public while representing the company.

    Qualifications & Requirements

    • Minimum of SSCE/OND qualification(or equivalent).
    • Must possess a valid Nigerian driver’s license (Class G or appropriate heavy-duty category).
    •  3–5 years experience in haulage or long-distance truck driving.
    • Good knowledge of major Nigerian highways, routes, and interstate logistics operations.
    • Strong understanding of vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
    • Ability to work long hours, travel extensively, and adapt to changing schedules.
    • Must be physically fit and pass pre-employment medical screening (vision, hearing, and general health).
    • Defensive driving certification or FRSC/approved safety training is an added advantage.

    Skills & Competencies:

    • Excellent driving skills and safety awareness.
    • Reliability, discipline, and a high sense of responsibility.
    • Ability to keep proper delivery and fuel records.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Problem-solving mindset in case of breakdowns, security, or route issues.

    • Trailer Driving: 4 years (Required)

    License/Certification:

    • Class G Drivers License (Required).
