Sabi is a category agnostic B2B network for informal trade focused on accelerating the velocity of commerce by enabling stakeholders in the informal sector to access and offer value amongst each other.
We work to understand the individual needs of merchants by engaging them through different channels before connecting them to whichever service(s) that best helps them grow their business.
The main purpose of the Trade Lead is to identify and develop new business opportunities for the business by conducting market research, identifying potential customers, and promoting Sabi’s products or services to them.
The Trade Lead is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with existing customers as well as seeking out and engaging with potential new customers.
They may also negotiate and close deals, collaborate with other departments within the company to ensure customer satisfaction, and analyze market trends and competitors to stay informed and make strategic business decisions.
The goal of a trade lead is to increase sales, revenue, and market share for Sabi.
Job Responsibilities
The Trade Lead will be charged with performing these duties. They include:
Keep up to date with market trends and changes to identify new opportunities for the company.
Identify and target potential customers for the company's products or services, which may involve developing a list of prospects and reaching out to them to introduce the company.
Responsible for building strong relationships with existing and potential customers to generate sales and secure repeat business. This may involve attending trade shows and networking events, making sales presentations, and providing excellent customer service.
Develop and implement a strategic plan for entering new markets or expanding existing ones.
Negotiate with customers to finalize sales contracts and agreements.
Collaborate with other departments within the company, such as marketing and customer service, to ensure that customer needs are met and that the company is providing high-quality products or services.
Analyze market data and customer feedback to identify areas for improvement and make strategic business decisions.
Responsible for meeting sales targets and contributing to the company's overall revenue growth.
Monitor the performance of trade initiatives and make recommendations for improvement.
Set goals and identify key performance indicators (KPIs) used to track and measure achievement.
Requirements
Special Skills and Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree in any related discipline
A minimum of 5 years experience in Sales in FMCG and other consumer related products (Electronics, beauty, etc). Prior experience as Sales Team Lead, Modern Trade lead is required.
Strong wholesale and bulk sales abilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong organizational and time management skills
