    Telecom Field Support Engineer- (Lagos Island)

    We are looking for a Telecom Field Support Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing on-site technical support, maintaining and troubleshooting telecom infrastructure, and ensuring seamless service delivery to clients. This role demands strong technical knowledge, problem-solving abilities, and excellent customer service orientation.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Perform installation, commissioning, and maintenance of telecom equipment (BTS, microwave links, routers, switches, and other network elements).
    • Conduct field visits to diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve network issues promptly.
    • Collaborate closely with the NOC and other teams for fault management, service restoration, and performance optimization.
    • Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance on network infrastructure to minimize downtime.
    • Provide technical support to customers and partners, ensuring timely issue resolution.
    • Prepare and submit detailed field service reports, documenting technical interventions.
    • Support network rollout and upgrade projects, including site surveys and acceptance testing.
    • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and  operational standards during field activities.
    • Escalate complex technical issues to senior engineers and follow up to resolution.
    •  First line contact, providing technical assistance to all walk in customer at Shops
    •  Assist in after sales device setup, installation, and configuration processes for new subscribers
    • Create a positive customer experience
    • Assist / guide customers to handle different hardware and software application as required
    •  Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, repairs and upgrade on all access devices
    •  Liaise with device & terminals unit, for all hardware errors & related replacement cases
    • Document help desk tickets/resolutions, and maintain defective device inventory list for shop
    • Recognize areas & forward plans for internal improvement to the Territory Sales Manager

    Requirements:

    • Education: OND/HND/Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
    • Experience: 1–3 years of experience in telecom field support or similar roles.
    • Hands-on experience with telecom network products (eNodeB, microwave transmission, and IP networking equipment).
    • Sound knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, MPLS, BGP, OSPF) and wireless communication technologies (2G/3G/4G/5G).
    • Proficient in WiFi, WiMAx, LTE, TCP/IP, WLAN, Ethernet, LAN, WAN, Device/Network level Troubleshooting,
    • Computers (OS & Application Level), Analytical, Internet and Tech savvy, Customer Focused, Team Player,
    • Desired Attributes Relevant Industry Experience, been on the front end handling customers and team.
