Technical Manager at Hedgestone Nigeria

The ideal candidate shall be responsible for technical assurance, quality control of all engineering deliverables, and providing technical support and guidance to the project team across all technical disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Conduct technical reviews and approvals of project specifications, drawings, and designs. Define document numbering, revision control, and approval workflows.
• Ensure compliance with API 5L, ASME B31.8 and other applicable industry standards
• Participate in the review of technical documents and specifications related to procurement.
• Manage the technical aspects of change orders and variations that arise during execution.
• Provide ongoing technical support and guidance to the project team and EPC Contractor across all technical disciplines.
• Monitor construction quality and verify compliance with approved technical documents
• Oversee the resolution of complex technical issues arising during construction

Job Requirements

• 15+ years oil/gas experience with 8+ years in technical leadership roles
• BSc/BEng in relevant engineering discipline
• Minimum 3 major pipeline projects
• Nigerian onshore/land terrain experience
• Chartered Engineer (COREN/NSE) (advantageous)
• API 570/571 certifications
• NEBOSH/IOSH (HSE) (advantageous)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Advanced Excel mandatory)
• Strong reporting and analytical skills
• Knowledge of Nigerian Content Development requirements
• Fluency in English (written and spoken)
• Experience working in Nigerian oil/gas sector preferred
