Job Summary

• The Production Technical Designer will be responsible for preparing detailed technical drawings, production documentation, cut lists, and material optimization plans that guide the team.
• The ideal candidate must have strong experience in furniture manufacturing workflows, including panel saw operations, CNC machining, board optimization, and installation detailing.

Key Responsibilities

• Create detailed technical and production drawings using AutoCAD and SketchUp.
• Prepare accurate cut lists and material lists using MaxCut or similar optimization software.
• Optimize board usage to reduce material waste and improve manufacturing efficiency.
• Work closely with the Production Manager and Project Team to ensure designs are manufacturable and installation-ready.
• Interpret architectural drawings and translate them into furniture production drawings.
• Provide technical guidance to the teams, floor supervisors, and installers.
• Develop prototype designs and test production methods when necessary.
• Ensure designs meet quality standards, structural integrity requirements, and safety guidelines.
• Coordinate with procurement and production teams to confirm material specifications and quantities.
• Prepare and submit daily, weekly, and monthly production documentation and reports.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design, Furniture Design, Architecture, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years experience in furniture manufacturing or production design.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, and MaxCut (or similar board optimization software).
• Strong experience
• preparing cut lists, material lists, and installation drawings.
• Solid knowledge of furniture construction methods, board materials (MDF, HDF, plywood, MFC), and joinery systems.
• Good understanding of panel saw operations, CNC machining, and woodworking production workflows.
• Ability to manage multiple technical drawings simultaneously while maintaining accuracy.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and production planning mindset.

• Experience working with CNC machines, panel saw optimization, or factory-based furniture production environments.
