    Technical Executive

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Maintain and ensure existing approved supplier list for the company in Africa, ensuring agreed protocols are followed. This will involve regular site visits.
    • Assess potential service providers, reporting and agree with the company Headquarters, any new additions to supplier list for the African business.
    • Deal with customer issues and complaints when they arise, including undertaking visits to packers /stores/customers as necessary and ensuring timely resolution of issues.
    • Key responsibility after resolution of issue is to make sure that corrective action is fully carried out and verified.
    • Work in conjunction with in-market team to ensure that appropriate technical service levels are provided to the company’s African business.
    • Respond to customer technical questionnaires and other documentation as required.
    • Ensure The company procedures with regard to product specification, product inspection, stor-age and handling are followed at all times in-market.
    • Provide technical information, to assist creation of robust specifications within market service providers.
    • Work closely with in market service providers to ensure a continuous improvement program is in place in all areas of quality by carrying out a program of regular site auditing and spot analysis of incoming product not packed in market with reports being fed back to Headquarters.
    • Drive and maintain a continuous improvement culture and ethos within finished product packers so as to obtain the best possible product, quality, presentation and service at all times for The company.
    • Monitor supply chain for challenges / issues and work with local and Headquarters based teams to resolve issues.
    • Carry out and provide trouble shooting and technical support to the business at short notice.
    • Drive compliance to Group Health and safety policies for Joint Venture site in Nigeria.
    • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of Monthly Health and Safety report for joint venture site in Nigeria.
    • Drive compliance to Group Property Risk policies of Joint Venture Facility in Nigeria.
    • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of Monthly group sustainability reporting for Joint Venture site in Nigeria.
    • Ensure Monthly reporting of Manufacturing KPIs for Joint venture facility to Group manufacturing team and work with finished product packers to resolve any issues.
    • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of Monthly Group Technical KPI reporting representing the African market.
    • Carry out quality audits of all co-packing and butter/ cheese distribution sites within the African market and maintain the Supplier Approval records for African co-packing facilities.
    • Participate in projects and commercial support as required.
    • Represent the company to highest level in all interactions at all times.
    • Perform other duties assigned from time to time.

    Required Qualifications:

    • A third level qualification in a technical food/food science discipline.
    • 4 plus experience within the dairy/food industry
    • Strength of knowledge in the areas of;
    • Microbiology and Food Safety
    • Auditing skills
    • Quality management systems
    • HACCP trained
    • Capability to learn sensory evaluation of dairy products.
    • Strong communication, interpersonal, organisational and administrative skills.
    • Flexible and committed attitude with the ability to display initiative.
    • The ability to work well individually, remotely and integrate well with operations team in the company’s Headquaters.
    • IT literate with strong Word, Excel and database skills.
    • Flexibility to travel and work outside office hours.
    • Problem solver, disciplined in collecting information, ascertaining root cause of issues and Identifying and developing practical solutions.
