DREEF seeks a highly experienced and motivated Technical Cluster Lead to manage the end to end technical delivery of bankable Distributed Renewable Energy (DRE) projects. This role will anchor one of DREEF’s cross-functional project execution Clusters, leading technical due diligence, feasibility validation, design oversight, and infrastructure quality assurance aligned with InfraCredit investment requirements
Job Details
Lead technical design validation and due diligence across multiple projects within a cluster.
Review and guide the preparation of BoQs, load/demand assessments, sizing models, and power flow studies.
Serve as technical interface with Finance, Legal, ESG, PUE, and Procurement teams to align project structuring.
Ensure compliance with national technical standards, including NERC, SONCAP, and REA design protocols.
Mentor and supervise junior engineers within the cluster and provide QA/QC oversight on project outputs.
Coordinate EPC input reviews and O&M planning, ensuring commercial and technical viability.
Technical risk assessment and mitigation planning
Engineering feasibility and BoQ analysis
Team mentorship and project pipeline management
Infrastructure quality control and compliance
Cross-functional integration with finance, legal, and ESG
Strong written communication and document review skills
Contribute to the development and refinement of DREEF’s Technical SOPs and toolkits.
Requirements
B.Sc./M.Sc. in Electrical, Mechanical, Renewable Energy, or related Engineering fields.
10–15+ years of relevant experience in power systems design, project engineering, and renewable energy execution.
Proven track record in delivering hybrid/C&I/off-grid energy projects (ideally >5MW cumulative).
Strong familiarity with simulation tools (HOMER, PVSyst, Helioscope) and engineering QA frameworks.
Experience working with or alongside commercial lenders, DFIs, or investment platforms preferred.
Demonstrated team leadership and cross-functional coordination experience required.
