Tech Analyst at Nairametrics

• Provide full coverage of the technology sector, including breaking news, in-depth analysis, feature stories, and investigative reports across fintech, startups, big tech, and digital innovation.  
• Attend and represent Nairametrics at tech events, product launches, regulatory briefings, conferences, and stakeholder engagements within the tech ecosystem.  
• Conduct interviews with founders, executives, investors, regulators, and industry experts, producing strong feature stories and company profiles.  
• Perform continuous research, benchmarking, and comparative analysis of tech companies, funding rounds, products, policies, and market trends to develop rankings, explainers, and market review content.  
• Track and report on key developments, including fundraising, mergers & acquisitions, product launches, and regulatory changes across both local and global tech ecosystems.  
• Build and maintain a strong network of contacts across fintech, startups, venture capital, big tech, regulators, and innovation hubs.  
• Serve as Nairametrics’ eyes and ears across the tech ecosystem, delivering timely, accurate, and insightful stories.  

Basic Requirements  

• Minimum of 3–5 years proven experience covering or working within the technology, fintech, startup, or digital innovation ecosystem.  
• Experience working in a fast-paced media organization or a related industry is highly desirable.  
• Strong writing ability with excellent analytical and explanatory skills, especially in simplifying complex tech concepts for a broad audience.  
• Demonstrated track record of high-quality reporting or analysis within reputable media, tech, or financial/market-analysis platforms.  
• Solid understanding of the global and local tech landscape, including funding trends, key players, and regulatory environment.  
• Strong research, fact-checking, and source development skills.  
• Ability to work under pressure and consistently meet tight deadlines.
