Teacher Assistant Nursery/Primary at Townfield School

Job Summary:

Townfield School needs passionate and dedicated Teacher Assistants to join their educational institution. Their job involves teaching as well as helping students develop foundational skills in reading and writing. They create lesson plans and assess student progress, provide individualized support when needed, and promote a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Location: Ejigbo, Lagos.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing teaching materials, setting up the classroom, and managing classroom activities.
• Provide one-on-one or small group support to students who may need extra help with assignments.
• Help Maintain discipline and a positive learning environment, including supervising students during activities and transitions.
• Assist in grading assignments and maintaining students' records.
• Provide support to students with special needs, following the teacher's guidance and individualized Education Plans if applicable.
• Act as a liaison between the teacher, students, and parents, relaying information and updates.
• Monitor students during lunch, recess, or field trips to ensure their safety and well-being.
• Assist with administrative duties such as photocopying, organizing materials, and maintaining classroom cleanliness.
• Attend relevant training or workshops to improve skills and stay updated on educational practices

JOB QUALIFICATION

• A minimum of an SSCE  or NCE
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Teacher assistants should be patient and understanding when working with students, especially those who may need extra support
• Keeping classroom materials and activities organized is important
