    Supply Chain Manager

    Role and Responsibilities

    Ensures all international trade shipments are fully and flawlessly delivered on time, below budget and without any defect:

    • Coordinates with internal (procurement, QC, sales, technical teams, …) & external (clients, suppliers, third party inspection bodies, clearing agents, …) clients to draft shipping and consolidation schedules/requirements (shipping, packaging, delivery, documentation, permits, …)
    • Follows up on material readiness.
    • Drafts, requests, and follows up on documents (including LC requirements, PI, CI, PL, BOL / AWB, Clean QC report…).
    • Books shipments and provide clear and comprehensive shipping and packing instructions.
    • Oversees inland and clearing in operations until goods are received to warehouse.
    • Follows up on shipments/deliveries from order placement till delivery and GRN receipt.
    • Updates stakeholders on status & updates (time, cost, risk, roadblocks, …).
    • Highlights overall project delays and aligns most suitable ways.
    • Communicates project updates and shipping operation and answers client queries.
    • Assigns and assesses clearing contracts on local entity details.

    Sources & manages service providers (agreements & performance)

    • Sources new service providers (3PL, freight forwarders, certification bodies clearing agents, ….)
    • Negotiates, drafts and updates agreements/price lists with forwarders, inland transporters, insurance companies (price lists, payment terms, transit times (Air / Sea / Land freight)
    • Evaluates, monitors & improves service providers’ performance.

    Market monitoring & analysis

    • Studies and stays informed about trade agreements between countries where we operate.
    • Updates tariff books and clearing fees in countries.
    • Monitors shipping routes, vessel availabilities & price fluctuations to optimize strategy & operations.

    Reporting & improvement initiatives

    • Submits & analyzes reports & dashboards.
    • Takes necessary action to improve operational & financial performance.
    • Proposes & supports on the implementation of improvement initiatives.
    • Supports and provides input/estimates for bidding process.
    • Supports, coaches & provides technical input to local SCM teams.

    Local fleet management improvement

    • Revamps fleet management systems in existing countries to improve overall performance and increase fleet efficiency.
    • Establishes a fleet control process.
    • Revamps supplier and fleet selection
    • Fleet repair history and yearly budget set
    • Asset liquidation process.
    • Fuel consumption monitoring.
    • Optimizes fleet usage.

    Improve the subcon contractual agreements:

    • Construction BOQ control and optimization in terms of materials delivered/ ordered from subcons.
    • Improves contractual agreement.
    • Evaluates supplier sourcing and selection.
    • Contract management to increase the rentability of each contract.

    Inventory and warehousing

    • Process revamp
    • Contract reshuffling
    • Supplier selection
    • Inventory control measures.
    • Improve accuracy.
    • Optimizes the inventory management system.

    Local procurement and logistics

    • Revamps process
    • Audits, controls, and optimizes the process in detail to fix the gaps.
    • Retrains the team to perform when needed.
    • Selection and recruitment of supply chain members.
    • Aligns and optimizes the clearing process from port to warehouse/client premises.

    Qualification Requirements:

    • 6-10 years of relative work experience in international trade, Telecom industry is a plus.
    • Extensive knowledge of shipping and distribution channels.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

    Education Requirements

    • CIPS Level 6 certification or bachelors in business administration or supply chain management or equivalent
