    Subject Teacher

    Job Role

    • The Subject Teacher is responsible for providing an educational atmosphere where students have the opportunity to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, spiritual and psychological growth.

    Responsibilities

    • Planning and delivering engaging, relevant, and challenging lessons in the subject area, such as mathematics, science, language arts, history, or a foreign language.
    • Assessing and evaluating student progress in the subject area, providing feedback, and developing individualized learning plans as needed.
    • Creating a positive and safe learning environment that promotes student engagement and understanding of the subject matter.
    • Communicating effectively with students, parents, and colleagues, including regular reporting on student progress in the subject area.
    • Collaborating with other subject teachers to plan and coordinate instructional activities and school-wide programs.
    • Participating in professional development activities to stay current with best practices in the subject area and to improve teaching skills.
    • Being knowledgeable about the subject matter and staying informed about current trends and developments in the field.
    • Respect for all members of a school community, irrespective of position, gender, age and ethnic background
    • Write and maintain relevant records for individual student files and write reports..
    • Participate in the maintaining of high standards of behaviour and uniform of students in the classroom and in all school locations and activities. students both on and off the school premises when students are under the school’s jurisdiction
    • Actively support the values, vision, ethics, culture and policies of the school
    • Inspire and motivate students, teachers and other school employees
    • Comply with the professional duties of the staff Code of Conduct
    • Contribute to a school culture which is positive, purposeful and professional
    • Take a fair and appropriate share of duties.
    • Maintain a teaching load appropriate to the position, including the participation of Enrichment Activities if appropriate.
    • Take responsibility for curriculum delivery and associated resources in a manner consistent with school and departmental policies and procedures
    • Make effective use of formative and summative assessment to plan challenging learning opportunities for all students;
    • Monitor and record students’ learning to ensure they remain on track to achieve and exceed expectations;

    KPIs:
    Key performance indicators (KPIs) for a subject teacher include:

    • Student achievement: Measured through academic test scores, class grades, and other assessments of student learning in the subject area.
    • Student engagement: Gauged through observations, surveys, and feedback from students and parents.
    • Classroom management: Evaluated through measures of student behavior and discipline, as well as through assessments of the physical environment and instructional materials.
    • Professional development: Measured through participation in professional development activities and opportunities, as well as through evaluations of professional skills and abilities in the subject area.
    • Effective use of instructional time: Evaluated through observations of the classroom, as well as through assessments of student engagement and academic progress in the subject area.
    • Lesson planning and preparation: Measured through evaluations of lesson plans and instructional materials, as well as through assessments of the use of technology and other resources in the subject area.
    • Collaboration with colleagues: Assessed through measures of collaboration and communication with other teachers and subject specialists, as well as through evaluations of interdisciplinary teaching and learning.

    Other Conditions:

    • Permanent position with opportunity for growth
    • 3 months probation period
    • Monday - Friday / 7am - 4pm

    Requirements and Qualifications

    • A Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Education in the subject,
    • A minimum of 5 years experience teaching in a classroom setting.
    • Strong subject matter knowledge,
    • Excellent Communication and interpersonal skills are also essential.
    • Passionate about teaching and a strong commitment to holistic education
    • Ability to inspire students through a genuine passion for learning and a desire to lead them towards outstanding academic outcomes
    • A positive and solution-focused attitude to working life
    • Highly motivated, ambitious and collaborative
    • Demonstrate empathy, humility and genuinely care about children, taking the time to listen and motivate them
    • Be aware and up to date in all relevant safeguarding polices and practice
    • Knowledge and experience of how to use of ICT effectively in promoting student learning
