Structural Engineer at HTL Africa

About the role

• The Structural Engineer is concerned with the design and physical integrity of buildings designed by HTL Africa.
• The job holder can work on any/all phases of development including Pre-Design, Schematic Design, Design Development, Construction Documents and Construction Administration. Work with Senior Architect(s) and the Head of Design services to actualize HTL Africa and its client’s design ideas.

Key responsibilities

• Design structures, such as buildings or bridges
• Create structural models by using computer-aided design software
• Measure loads and pressures caused by environmental or human influence
• Follow construction safety guidelines
• Choose appropriate materials based on structural specifications
• Monitor on-site construction processes and supervise construction workers
• Prepare and allocate budgets
• Track and report on project progress
• Collaborate with contractors and project managers

Requirements

• Degree in Structural Engineering (M.Sc. is an added advantage)
• Experience minimum of 3 years
• Proficiency in the use of AutoCAD, Revit structure, CAD-RC, Photoshop, and other software/ tools.
• Must have expertise in steel design and ability to detail structural elements and design.
